  • Hi all,

I have got a list of all my charges already, so which address do I need to send this letter to? Is it my local branch?

I have tried a search, but HSBC brings up sooo many threads.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I sent the letter to HSBC asking to be refunded, I just got a letter back saying they are investigating my claim and I should hear from them within 8 weeks when they have finished their investigations.... Is this allowed or are they just trying to drag things out??

Should I wait 8 weeks or keep to the 14 day deadline I gave them and send the next letter? I'm not sure if the 14 day deadline is now invalid because they wrote me the letter saying it could be 8 weeks to investigate...

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks
Thanks to everyone that posts :T:money:

Everyone on this forum tells you to stick to your deadlines, they don't give you 8 weeks notice before taking out the charges do they?? So stick to your limits, I put in my next letter that because I hadn't recieved a satisfactory reply that the letter was the LBA(letter before action) I still haven't heard anything so filed online last week and it is deemed served today, fingers crossed. Hope this helps.
  • If your wanting to get in touch with HSBC then call this number: 0800881155 Found it on the HSBC website, it's the number for complaints and the service quality team who deal with the bank charges!

I had been trying the number they put on the letter they send - tried twice and the first time I was on hold for 30 mins, second time 40 mins. Called that number and I got through straight away without hearing any hold music!

    :T

Have sent off 1st letter to HSBC and heard nothing. Am just about to send off 2nd letter but want to be prepared for any next stages. Anyone got any advice - particularly for HSBC? Also how do I find out which small claims court to refer to and how do I apply - writing, on-line and where can I find the details. Are there any forms to support this as I can't seem to find any on Martin's website (maybe looking in the wrong place or just being thick!!??) Both claims are under £2,000. All advice greatly appreciated.

All the help you need is in threads on the forum. HSBC and MCOL (moneyclaim online) are majorly busy threads and will have lots and lots of advice.

    Good luck :)

You will probably merged there in a minute anyway.

You can file a claim online: https://www.moneyclaim.org.uk
When you file a claim, the default court will be Northampton, if a court date needs to be set, it will automatically go to your local court. You do not need to give the bank the info yet which one that will be so you can leave that info out of the template letter.
Martin has a template letter for the particulars of claim but it's too long. Use post 6 or 11 in this thread instead: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=353590
It gives you other useful info too.

    Good luck!

  • Hello, me again! Right ive sent third letter to HSBC, having had a response to the second letter saying oh dear, we will investigate and get back in touch. But ive now had a return letter saying, 'i refer to my earlier letter in which i said i would invistigate, i am still conducting said invesigations and will be in touch by the 4th April'. Firstly I am feeling most irratated as i think they are hoping im going to give up and go away, but secondly im worried that there is something significant about the date of the 4th April, that i dont know about (other than tax year stuff) and that they are going to get away with not coughing up! What do I do???? Is there another letter i can send to stop them delaying? Should i start the court process rolling which i thought was last resort stuff and could they say im being unreasonable not giving them time to invistigate my complaint? HELP! Getting dispondant and angry now!
