oh my god i cant believe hsbc, i emailed asking for all statements from past 6 years then thought it might be quicker to ring them, wen i asked for them over the fone i was told there was no charge for this service, then 2 days later i got email from online banking saying kindly note £10 will be deducted from your account for the statements, i emailed back saying that i was told over the fone it was free and they returned the £10-BEWARE THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY FLEECING SOME PEOPLE AND NOT OTHERS FOR THEIR STATEMENTS!!! QUESTION THEM,THEY MIGHT BACK DOWN ON THE CHARGE.

OH AND BY THE WAY IT DIDNT HINDER THE STATEMENTS COMING THROUGH EITHER, 7 DAYS LATER 41 LETTERS, 2 DAYS AFTER THAT ANOTHER 40+, ALL STATEMENTS THROUGH IN LESS THAN 10 DAYS EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID 40! :T

I SENT HSBC A £10 NOTE WITH MY REQUEST WHICH THEY DIDNT RETURN EVEN THOUGH THE LETTER SAID `THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE`

SO, AFTER I SPOKE TO AN AWFUL WOMEN ON THE PHONE WHO BASICALLY SAID `SLING IT` I ADDED IT TO MY CHARGES LIST WITH A PARAGRAPH ABOUT HOW I DIDNT GET MY MONEY BACK AND I WOULD BE MAKING A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH THE FINANCIAL OMBUDSMAN  AND I GOT A CHEQUE FROM THEM A WEEK N A HALF LATER!! HA ..

STILL WAITING FOR MY OFFER FROM HSBC .. CANT SPEAK TO THEM ON THE PHONE ..WAS ON HOLD FOR 3 HOURS YESTERDAY .. SO ALL I CAN DO IS SIT ON MY HANDS..

MY DEADLINE WAS UP ON FRIDAY...SHOULD I FILE MCOL ON MONDAY?

BIT SHORT OF CASH AT THE MO BUT IM SO PI**SED OFF AT HAVING TO WAIT .. I JUST WANT MY MONEY BACK

dont let them give you a timeframe, tell them you are taking them to court and start the online process

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
These are definitely delaying tactics. Start your court claim and you will see that it won't take them 8 weeks to reply to that.

I sent my first letter on Feb 24 to try and reclaim the £100 that I was charged in overdraft fees.

A few days ago I got a response from Colin Longdale, Senior Service Quality Officer.

"I am looking into the matters you have raised and will contact you with a full response as soon as I have completed my investigations."

I'm wondering what to do next, obviously I don't want to have to go to court if I can avoid it. Should I sent the next letter as in step 4 - http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1141050760,24632,#step4 or should I wait for "a full response".

Any advice is fully appreciated folks, thanks.

What is the HSBC address the letter should be addressed to?
To whom should the letter and letter be addressed to so that it ends up in the correct hands?
    Thank you for your help
