Have waited for ages for HSBC to get back to us, filed a claim with MCOL for 1926.00 incl interest and 120.00 Court costs. Claim acknowledged 6 March. Received a letter on 8 March dated 26 FEB!! offering 1300.00.
Have declined offer and advised already filed a claim to my cost of 120.00. Received form from MCOL today to advise HSBC will be defending the claim!
Help!! have I blown it??0 -
oh my god i cant believe hsbc, i emailed asking for all statements from past 6 years then thought it might be quicker to ring them, wen i asked for them over the fone i was told there was no charge for this service, then 2 days later i got email from online banking saying kindly note £10 will be deducted from your account for the statements, i emailed back saying that i was told over the fone it was free and they returned the £10-BEWARE THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY FLEECING SOME PEOPLE AND NOT OTHERS FOR THEIR STATEMENTS!!! QUESTION THEM,THEY MIGHT BACK DOWN ON THE CHARGE.
OH AND BY THE WAY IT DIDNT HINDER THE STATEMENTS COMING THROUGH EITHER, 7 DAYS LATER 41 LETTERS, 2 DAYS AFTER THAT ANOTHER 40+, ALL STATEMENTS THROUGH IN LESS THAN 10 DAYS EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID 40! :T0 -

Pretty inexperienced here, but i would say they are dangling a carrot. I would have thought (and im no expert) that if he does draw the money without declining the offer then he has by default accepted the offer.
Up to him, but if he's determined to get the £1212 back in full, to decline the offer in writing and stick to his guns would be the most sensible advice.0 -
No
Just bear with it. They sent us a letter with an offer dated 6/2 on the 27/2 with "reply in 10days".
Have had to fill in the questionaire but they should back down when the court date is set or at least on the day. Wish it wouldnt go that far but I have a feeling it will.0 -
Hi - I wrote to HSBC on 6 Feb 07 - sent it recorded delivery. Had a reply on 21 Feb 07 saying they had 8 weeks to sort out complaints. I wrote again on 26 Feb 07 (again sent recorded delivery) and I have just had a reply today saying that they will reply by 6 April 07. This will have given them 2 months to sort out my bank charge reclaim.
I ask - did they ever give me 2 months grace before they took my money out of my account?
Also - are they just delaying this waiting for the OFT finding?
Should I still go ahead and file my claim with the courts despite them asking me for "my patience" while they investigate my claim?
I feel it is purile delay tactics by this very big bank - delaying on a potential payout of £2K.
Any advice ref the court claim would be welcome
thank you0
