Thanks to this site, I have today received my cheque from Alliance and Leicester along with the usual covering letter stating that they will now look into my account with them as I do not agree with their terms and conditions. Thank you all and for all of you still waiting - good luck. Karen.0

I'm following this guide http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1141050760,24632,#first
and am currently about to go through with "Step 3"
The address I was given for the department handling these claims is listed below, I was given this by HSBC customer service. Is this the right address?
HSBC Bank PLC
Service Quality Team
Arlington Business Center
Millshaw Park Lane
Leeds
LS11 0PP
Also am I going about everything the best way?
This was going to be my next question. Once I've checked my account, prepared my amount and want to move onto step 2 which is the best address to send it to? Thanks againHSBC: £1582.74 owed including interest.

boshy wrote:Hi there, this is my first post. I sent my second letter to my local HSBC branch, requesting the last six years of charges to be refunded (£890!), along with a schedule. This was on the 31st January and I have had no reply, in hindsight I should have sent it recorded (I didn't). Are HSBC delaying or should I give them the benefit of the doubt and send the letter again, with updated interest charges?
Since I'm in a fairly dire financial situation (HSBC consistently charge me £75-100 every month at the moment) they propbably know that I'm not in a position to front the money for a small claims charge, and may be delaying on this point?
The last time I called the bank to cancel an old direct debit they were extremely polite to me! Or maybe I'm just paranoid...
Could anyone advise me on what action to take at this stage, as I'm currently on the treadmill of perpetual bank charges and getting generally screwed!!
Thanks btw to this ace website, happy birthday!
Have you checked if you will be exempt from paying court fees, I was thanks to nickmack, I dont have the link but check out nicmaks singature for it:mad: I'll get you debts and your little dog too!!! :mad:And best of luck to all the other debt busters out there!!:beer:0 -
kittycatt wrote:hi, can anyone help, i recieved a reply from HSBC today refusing to refund my claim of £6060. Has anyone else recieved a refusal, and what do i do now ?
I am so annoyed, and dont know which way to go now ???
Are you following the simple step by step process on this site ?
Just stick to the said (YOUR) timeline and ignore their refusals. Send the next letter telling them you'll take em to court. Beware, i'd drop your request under 5k so as to qualify for small claims, otherwise the risks/costs etc are greater!!210 -

mckgem wrote:Hi,
This is my first post, I'm about to start procedings with HSBC to reclaim my bank charges.
I'm not sure if I have to write to HSBC's H/O or my branch to get my last 6 years of data. Does anybody have details of the address/department that I have to write to?
Secondly, I have considered reclaiming charges with my credit card, but am currently on a payment arrangement with them and don't pay interest - do you think it's worth it?
Thirdly - I'm slightly concerned at the OFT ruling due this month. I understand that it will force the banks to justify the amounts they charge us and that this in itself will take a while to calculate. My question is do yu think it's worth starting proceedings this late in the day?
Many thans in advance
Gemma
Q1, You can get your six years statements with HSBC online banking.
Q3, Get on with it ! Hearing or not, the bank has to respond in the legal timeframes otherwise you win by default. What have you got to lose ???210 -
Excellent, thanks again guys.
Just so you know, I tried with the online banking system but it says the earliest data that it can display is 09 Jan 2007.HSBC: £1582.74 owed including interest.

Wish me luck every one 37 days and counting for my statements to come back
Good luck !!!!
I've been lurking and reading too for the last few days and made a list of all the accounts I can remember having in the last 6 years. I'll be claiming quite a bit too although I'll need to find a few bob to cover each £10 charge to each seperate bank which might take a little while yet.
Still, gives me plenty of time to keep rambling around the site gathering ammunition
Once again, good luck :dance:0 -
