  • I would like to know if it is the same procedure for business accounts. My husband has a business with hsbc and he has had massive charges for upping his overdraft limit. The charges have been £75 per time and have now been increased. Would these charges qualify for a refund?

 £471??!!! Im Really Shocked Thats Disgusting!! You Know What I Really Hope You Get All The Way Through & Get Interest Added On Top Of What They Owe You!!

I Think The DD Thing Will Be They Will Have Re-Tried Taking Your DD Out A Few Times, They Tried To Take My House Phone Bill Out 4 Times One Month When I Was Overdrawn, I Mean For Godsake They Must Have Realised...

Another Thing Which They Used To Do Was Ring Me From India Constantly, Asking Me When Money Was Going Into My Account & Basically Telling Me What To Do With My Money  IT Used To Drive Me Crazy, Half The Time They Didnt Know What They Were On About Anyway

Im With Natwest Now, And I Know Alot Of People Think They're Crap But In 7 MOnths Ive had ONE Charge, And Theyve Given Me A Managable Overdraft Which I Can Extend Anytime I Want Without Fuss.

Maybe You Should Think About Changing Banks Jem When You Finally Get Your Money? xx

Ditto again!!!! Natwest have been brill so far, no indian call centre yippee!! I've now used the BT barring service to stop HSBC call centre from calling me they are a pain in the !!! they must phone 4 times a day, well not anymore ha ha.
Remember ....its not a bargain unless you need it :D
  • I saw the article in the metro this morning regarding all the claims ect. As I'm pressed for time I'm unable to go through every single thread for answeres and hope someone can help me.

I looked through 3.5years worth of online statements, the fees were around £1400 before tax. So my question is if I do have access to my online statements do I still need To pay the £10 for the paper statements?

Also, I dont use my Hsbc current account anymore appart from that I do need it as a £25 per month payment must be made from that account to my Hsbc managed loan. Might there be any complications regarding those two accounts if I do claim?

    Thanks in advance

(why didnt I find this site months ago, would have saved me many many sleepless nights?

If You Have Access To Your Last 6 Years Of Statements Online (Or 3.5 If Thats All You Want To Claim) Then NO You Dont Need Paper Copies ,

You Just Need To Transfer The Charges To A Spreadsheet Giving Date, Amount & Charge Details ..

Your Loan Is A Completely Different Agreement From Your Current Account So No There Wont Be Any Complications UNLESS HSBC Close Your Current Account (Which Means You Will Have To Pay Your £25 To Your Loan From A Different Bank Account) - See The Thread About Which Banks Are Closing Peoples Accounts

    Hope That Helps!! x

I notice earlier in this thread that somebody went to court and lost because they weren't prepared. What was it they should have provided because I may well be there myself soon and getting a little worried about the prospect.

does anybody know why this happened??
  • we got to the point of getting1-3 calls per day from india asking when there was money going into the account, even though they knew when payday was,my husband had 2 jobs, all the wages from his part time job going solely on charges, they rang time and time again, asking if we had other monies available to credit into the account, like we voluntarily were tolling up hundreds of pounds in charges! we said no, we were broke, we had no money, we had £3 in our hsbc savings account and they transfered that into the current account. after the second call one day, they rang again, maybe less than 15mins after second call, and told us to get the money into the account, lol, maybe we could just magic £800 out of nowhere, anyway, we were told, and these were their exact words, go and beg, borrow or steal from family or friends you need a minimum £500 in your account today! i have to say, i let them know exactly what i thought of them and hung up. from then on everytime i get a call with the 3 second delay before they talk i ask who it is, if its hsbc i simply put the fone down without another word!
  • i have already started court action and am at the "acknowledged " part of the proceedings
they have until 7march to make their defence

i ,ve took loads of brilliant advice from this forum and will stick it out whatever they throw at me
  • Hi, I posted this a few weeks ago, I declined HSBC's offer of £894 as up to today they owe me £1350, today, I received a lower offer of £751.82. I think it is because they are only counting up to December whereas I am claiming upto today, can I do that with the Small Claims Court? am I able to add extra penalties on as I'm given them or can I only go for the amount from when I started court proceedings?

There is no way I am accepting this lower offer. Should I say in the letter that if they do not pay me the £1350, I will make anoher claim for January and Feburary penalties?

Sorry to go on but I am soooo frustrated with the whole situation and just want it over and done with!

Any advice would be VERY much appreciated.

Hi, I stated Small Claim Court proceedings with HSBC in Deember and claimed for approx £1350, they disputed the whole amount. Today I received a letter from them offering me £894. Please can anybody offer me some advice as my family think I should take the offer but they are short by £450 which is a lot of money to me. My gut instinct is saying reject it but it then may go all the way to court and I lose
Your help is much appreciated :o
  • I'm just typing out my letter to reclaim £100 worth of overdraft charges and I've got 2 questions.

1 - On the example letter from this site it states that I should insert the name and address of my bank. Is there a national address I should use for HSBC or am I meant to put in the address of the branch I use. The thing is the branch I have used before and that I set up the account with has recently closed.

2 - I have found the statements with the charges on, should I type in the charges on the letter itself or add it as an additional sheet. I'm going to photocopy the statements and them in with the letter too.

    Cheers
on a money saving mission! :p
