write back quickly saying that you did not agree to this and that by putting it in your account does not mean you accept the settlement. send this recorded and make sure they get it. or telephone and make sure it is made clear you do NOT agree to this that this is a part payment and as far as you are concerned it is some of your money back and the rest will be coming back soon

then continue with your claim (adding in a quick thing saying that you have recieved part payment but consider this a part payment not a settlement)

I have claimed from HSBC for the second time £120ish this time they sent me the usual letter not accepting responsibility but they would refund the money etc. over a week ago which I signed and sent back immediately and still it hasn't gone into my account. I am sure when I claimed the first time it took a couple of days from me signing the acceptance letter to the money going back into my bank.

    The answer is NO
  • Thanks Natalieee and jem170884.

Well, today I got home and found an acknowledgment of service has been filed from HSBC saying that DG Solicitors are going to defend the claim in full. Thats ONE DAY after HSBC sent me a 'goodwill offer' and even before they have given me a chance to acknowledge their offer.

Do the solicitors actually know what the bank is doing and vice versa.

Anyway, I am NOT going to accept their measly offer and I am going to carry on with the claim.

Now to get started on my husbands personal and business accounts. OMG what have I volunteered myself for....... I lurve working into the wee small hours.
Proud to be dealing with my debts ONE day at a time
