    Hi all,
I suppose I know the answer to this already but here goes! I accepted an offer from HSBC some weeks ago (£3500 for £4500 claim). I rec'd the money and all was fine.
In the past few weeks DG Solicitors have written and offered the full £4500. I have so far ignored the letters and informed the court it's all settled, but I got another letter from DG today basically saying 'we haven't heard from you do you want this money or not!'
Very very tempting I must say, any thoughts anyone?

  • Thank you fingers crossed eh? In the middle of a very expensive employment tribunal too so lets hope my luck spreads to that as well - employers fault not not of course!!! With HSBC and work Im looking at about 12.5k!!!
 I'll get you debts and your little dog too!!!
And best of luck to all the other debt busters out there!!

  • oooo i dont know if you say yes then is that not fraud??? Me being me i would take it and then worry about the fraud later but technically it isnt a mistake on your part and as an ex bank employee they have to notice within 24 hours and if they dont it is too late!!!

    Cheers Jem,
when they first sent the letters, I just ignored them but this one today really got me thinking! I suppose I could just extract the £1,000 that they short changed me in the first place! But then the game would be up and they'd realise!
Good luck with yours by the way, I'll keep following with interest (pardon the pun)!

right then, i've gone through the necessary stages and have issued court proceedings. I have now recieved an acknowledgment of service and been informed that Abbey intend to defend the case in full..is there anything i now need to do whilst the statutory 28 day notice expires.

In a seperate letter recieved on the same day Abbey have informed me they intend to put £175 into my account as a ``good will gesture` if i do not stop this will it affect my claim ?

    many thanks.

The same type of think happened to me (a few posts above time 3.59pm). Check out Karmans response to me at 4.56 today ^^
  • just done second letter ready to take to post office tomorrow if nothing comes in the post. Wish us luck!!! Hopefully they won't drag their feet with the second letter!!??!! We can but hope!!!!!!!!!!!
  • posted first letter on Monday enclosing the £10 on Wednesday this was paid into my bank account, wonder why? Anyone else had this done?
  • If you change your statement format online you can get all your statements without sending any cash at all. We then sent the letter with the breakdown of what we were claiming on 7th Feb and got a reply las t Fri.. we are looking blah blah.... and just printed the next letter think it's numbered 4 or 5 when you download it from here ready to go. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

They Did That To Me Aswell, I Pleaded With Them To Give Me An Overdraft Countless Times & The Answer Was Always `No Your Credit Rating Is Too Low` BUT IT WAS LOW BECAUSE I WAS BEING HAMMERD BY CHARGES!! I ALWAYS Got Charged At Least £50 Per Month, Some Months It Was £125!!

I Couldnt Understand At The Time & I Lost Count Of How Many Times I Left The Bank In Tears...Now I Realise They Were Making Money Out Of My Situation & Out Of 1000's More People!!

Its Really Disgusting How Theyve Been Allowed To Get Away With It For So Long x

Me too and I agree, now I've took the money back they charged me go back on my feet and bank elsewhere and can very proudly say I have managed my account since November and not had one single charge. Never again will I grace the steps of HSBC :D
Remember ....its not a bargain unless you need it :D
