            Thanks for your input.
I don`t know if you bothered to read this thread before posting but the gist of it is
I`ve gone to two local Ford main dealers and they wont discount so now I`m looking to buy onlline because they will.
Have you read the thread, you keep saying they wont discount and you keep getting told they will if you go to the showroom0

 Read my lips
I went to both showrooms yesterday, half a day wasted.
Quite a few on here kept rabbitin` on about not giving a price over the phone and to go to the dealer.
 I DID0

I`m sorry Dizzy, I should have made it clear that I spent half of yesterday going to the two main dealers.
For anybody else that`s interested, they will not go below the Ford RRP for the Ford Fiesta 1.25 (60 bhp) 3 door hatchback.
Whether it`s because it`s the cheapest model they do or the new number plate and they`re expecting to sell their allocation, I don`t know.
So it`s no use coming on here and talking about what you got off for xyz 6 months ago.
 It`s what I can`t get now.
It`s today that counts and we`re in a recession/credit crunch era but there`s no deal.
Thanks for all replies and online "links".0

Though I haven't yet bought, for my researched model, http://www.coast2coastcars.co.uk/ were consistently the cheapest.
I did notice that last year, Ford reduced their headline prices to head off the stupidly large discounts they were having to offer to shift stock.0

www.dealdrivers.co.uk have Fiesta 1.25 3dr Edge available through their dealers at £9225 in either silver or black. I know it isn't the exact trim level you're looking for, but is fairly close.
Ultimately, you have to buy from whoever you feel most comfortable buying from. I'm amazed that the dealers are doing so well that they aren't offering you any discount (is that because it is the most basic Fiesta that you want and they don't have any in stock - did you ask about discounts on anything they have in stock?).
Still, they obviously don't want or need your business, so I'd go somewhere that does!!0

Yes but slightly dearer and you wouldn`t recommend them!
No, I wouldn't. I have dealings with them in a number of capacities over the years and they haven't always acted with the highest of integrity. That is all I can say I'm afraid. I linked to them because they came up first in google. But as I understand it, all dealers are offering the "double the discount" deals. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

In that case you either didn't speak to the right peopel or you didn't ask the right questions. I'd recommend you spread your net further. Ask about "double the discount."The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

Have a gander at Mike Rutherford's article on the Saturday Telegraph today about ford pricing:-

I cant read your lips, I dont have a webcam.
Nowhere in your previous posts have you said that you visited 2 dealers.
I am amazed that if you did go to a dealer they didnt offer a discount0

Just don't buy a Ford then if it's so much trouble trying to get the price you want? :rotfl:0
