Ok, as an update, Corgi homecare have now called back, and are willing to put the whole cost towards a new boiler for me, and have it of the same output as my current boiler (30KW).
They have said that they require me to stay with them for a further 12 months, which i am happy to do as long as i get the service, and that they wish for me to write a referal for their website saying that they have changed the boiler.
This is now scheduled for fitting on friday this week by Bouchard and Jones, so hopefully the hot water issues will be fixed in 2 days.
2 Weeks without hot water having to boil kettles every day to bath 4 people and a 16 month old baby is a right pain let me tell you.0 -
Ziptrax...
Seems they have been totally fair and provided you with cover above and beyond their terms & conditions.0 -

Wise up they backed themselves into a corner...... classing a boiler as beyond economical repair just for a gas valve..... seriously....Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -

well done.
go back to your wee corne in your corgi loving office.....we are all entitled to an opinion, and corgi have been shot to pieces on many forums.....Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
You must be an idiot if you believe that CORGI will replace a whole boiler free of charge for a faulty valve! If you actually take time to read the post, the final diagnosis is a faulty heat exchanger.0

I have signed up for this. Had a problem with gas cooker hob which is excluded as an 'appliance' - - probably applies to most schemes
More significant is the ANNUAL SERVICE. My last one was done last autumn by British Gas. I changed to Corgi in April and phoned today to see when my service would be done. It seems it will be done towards the end of the first year of my contract i.e. April next year. This is understandable but it concerned me it would not have been serviced for 18 months. In particular under Corgi's T&C I was concerned any failure in the meantime might be excluded since it hadnt been serviced within 12 months. The call centre lady assured me it would be OK but you might want to get the annual service done by your existing company before changing.
Also note it doesn't include a Safety check as required by some authorities if you take in lodgers, let rooms etc.
Otherwise my call was answered promptly.0 -

They had to change their name recentrly to Homeplan, as they were being naughty using a name another company uses.....
Also when your boiler should break down, note you wont get an appt offered on that call. from other corgi threads i have read, they ake a number and call you back once they find an engr to fix your boiler.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
I am considering using them.
I really like the fact that they will let my original installer of the boiler do the repairs.
The price on their website is being held for two years.
They don't just cover the boiler:
Central Heating
• Any Boiler repairs
• Pump faults
• Control systems including timers and thermostats
• Radiators
• Radiator valves
• Central heating pipework
• Hot water supply faults
• Hot water tanks
• Central heating header tank
• Motorized Valves
• PLUS - a new replacement boiler in the first 12 years if we cannot effect a repair
Electrics
• Fuse Boards and Boxes in your house
• All circuit breakers in your house
• All sockets and switches in your house
• All light pendants in your house
• Emergency call out for repairs in your house
Plumbing
• All hot water pipes
• All cold water pipes
• Overflows from your tanks
• Emergency call out for repairs
What's not covered?*
• Pre-existing faults at the time of taking out the policy including system design faults or inaccessible components
• Faults caused by the failure of gas, water or electrical supply services or consumer negligence
• Any faults caused by sludge or blockages
• Burst or leaking tanks or cisterns
• Drains
• Any perishable items, terminal ends or items that are replaceable, ie. tap washers, light bulbs, etc.
• The water main from the street to your stopcock
That all seems reasonable.

I changed over to them from British Gas in January this year.Within days I had a fault on my system and needed a visit.I rang the number and was informed an Engineer would call me back and within minutes he did and visited that same day and replaced a faulty part.
The following day the Engineer rang me asking if everything was ok and the following day I received a phone call from the Company asking if I was happy with my service.:T0
