Joined Corgi Homecare in April and had to recently call engineer for faulty boiler as had no heating. Had to wait 3 days for engineer as was told that no local engineers were available ! no apology even though response times advertised were far quicker than this. Was also told that annual service included in package could not be done until next March ie nearly 12 months after contract taken out ! When I tried to complain over the phone, was told to e mail. E mail not answered for 3 months and when having given up all hope and cancelled dirct debit, eventually a response received from the operations manager, again no apology or explantion - have therefore cancelled my contract and wished I hadnt wasted paying 7 months for nothing !

sorry to hear that... i keep trying to warn people. this lot aint much of a big outfit..... couple of people doesnt suffice for a big operation
Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?
  • Just finished reading this thread and this is what i have concluded.

The OP and paul vurjak are one person.

Corgi definatly does not exist anymore.

All these new members with 1 post count, worded identical to each other have clearly been posted from the office and are not genuine reviews.

I will not be signing up to corgihomecare and will look elsewhere which i advice anybody else to do.

I would be extremly wary of a company that feels the need to write up fake reviews on a moneysaving forum.
  • ....Within days I had a fault on my system and needed a visit.I rang the number and was informed an Engineer would call me back and within minutes he did and visited that same day and replaced a faulty part.....
Very unlikely story. Sounds more like some fake nonsense to get free advertising.

So what's the verdict on this one? Are CORGI worth a go? Did the original poster go with them?

    complete and utter rubbish.

So i reply to Paul's post yesterday, asking for some uestions to be answered regarding Corgi.

Guess what they have been removed?? i wonder who asked them to be removed, i wonder why someone took offence

Probably because they knew what i posted is true, and obviously they dont want every Tom, !!!!!! and Harry knowin the truth.

    So to reiterate.

This company used the Corgi Brand without permission, this much Corgi Services https://www.trustcorgi.com released the following statement:

Following several calls to CORGI regarding a warranty service; “CORGI Homecare”, CORGI would like to assure all that CORGI is not actively running a Warranty Scheme and would apologise that leaflets have been distributed suggesting that we are.

We are, of course, aware that this has happened and are currently investigating the issue and taking steps to retract things. As part of this we can confirm that the web site has been taken down and that no further mailings will be distributed.

After a few months, Green Installer struck a deal with corgi and the following statement appeared in HVP (Heating Ventilating and Plumbing) Magazine Online Version:

    Data misuse response
    8 June 2011
Under a licensing agreement, licensees are able to use the CORGI brand name, and are given legal access to the CSL database. CSL data should not be confused with Gas Work Notification data, which was used by one of our licensees for a pilot marketing exercise in March of this year. I can state unequivocally that this Gas Work Notification data is no longer being used by our licensees.CSL would not knowingly allow its data to be used inappropriately and, as a precaution, we are currently in discussions with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) for clarification.
We would also like to make it clear that CSL data is not given to us by boiler manufacturers or any other organisations operating within the plumbing and heating sector, and we would never allow CSL’s commercial activities to jeopardise installer businesses.
    Caitriona Deakin.
    CSL head of trading
Ms Deakin was responding to allegations suggesting that data was used inappropriately by one of its licensees to promote a CORGI HomeCare maintenance scheme.

At this time Corgi were also using the Homecare trademark in their name, and subsquently were forced to rebrand after BG took action against them.

They send their letters out to people giving the impression the letter is coming from Corgi not Green Installer.

At the same no where on the letter does it state Green Installer.

Now for anyone reading this that may have used Npower, BG, etc you will notice from these letters it will have the Company Brand, and also the name of the maintainence plan ie Homecare or Heatteam.

So here is the question.... why dont Green Installer do this.

Simple when most people realise its a comany they never heard they dont bother.

    THIS IS A FACTUAL POST.

the above statement came from an online magazine and https://www.trustcorgi.com

I am paying them for last 8 months or so.
When I needed some problem fixed, engineer was quick to turnup but wasn't helpful, tried to fix the problem but same problem re-occured two weeks later.
Tried to phone and was asked to email my compliant instead.
Have not heard from them since.

    what a waste of money...
I am sure many people like me, have joined just by the name "corgi", without realising they are useless bunch of people.
  • Ok, actually went with this lot, about to call and get that service done. It's been over (just) 12 months since my last one and I'm not one for playing fast and loose with gas safety, after-all, the professionals say get a service every 12 months right?

I shall update as to how this all goes...
  • Ok, well, service "brought forward". I don't like the idea that they do the service at the end of the contract, but brought forward puts my mind at ease a bit more. "An engineer will call me", and I will update the thread accordingly.

    Fingers crossed.
