Kezlou...
I have checked this out with Trading Standards, it is NOT a con!0 -
I am trying to decide whether to give this Corgi cover a try, or stick with BG - what I really want to see is a review from someone who has actually had to call them out so we can see how the service rates. I have found BG have got more and more expensive and slower and slower to come out over the past few years, so am tempted to change - even if just for a year.
(I have spoken to BG today about renewal, and as soon as I mentioned Corgi they offered a decent discount straight away, but still not down to the Corgi price.)0 -
TonyMMM...
I think CORGI Homecare only launched in January this year. Given there is a waiting period of 4 weeks before you can claim, there are not likely to be many reviews yet.
I don't think CORGI have their own employees doing the work; they use independent Gas Safe registered engineers.0 -

It looks as though it may be worth checking next year to see how this company performs. I am currently with BG and have found that their service, for annual boiler checks, electricity problems and drainage difficulties has been very good. I like the idea of saving money, but not if the service turns out to be useless.0 -
When I queried the small printed crucifix warning a stating "Price surcharges may apply in and around the M25" this is the reply I received from this company's customer services department:- "You are within the surcharge area. The extra cost would be £15.99 for breakdown cover and £19.99 to include an annual service on your boiler." A subsequent email reply confirmed these extra fees were monthly!!
Assuming this is what it states the fees will be:- £16.99+£15.99+£19.99 = £52.97. Ergo in and around the M25 the major competitor is £25.97p and may provide a better service with the number of people they employ plus their sub contractors.
Good luck finding a reliable service for your heating/plumbing0 -

I must admit I have already taken up their offer, but what you say is an eminently sensible idea.0 -

I think you will find that the charge (within the M25)
1. Without boiler maintenance: £15.99p (£12.99p outside M25)
2. With boiler maintenance: £19.99p (£16.99p outside M25)0 -
I have just received my invitation to join this dubious bunch but having read the posts and in the knowledge that I reside in the M25 surcharged area I will not ! I already get my original installer to do an annual service and put the saved money into a sinking fund . It is cheaper. You scullion! You rampallian! You fustilarian! I’ll tickle your catastrophe (Henry IV part 2)0

A bit of info for people here regarding corgi homecare.....
Company indeed running this in independent of Corgi, they simply pay a fee to use the corgi name/logo.
The are called green installer (650 engrs) they have a website greeninstaller . co .uk
They set up in 2008 sending literature as green installer, not a big take up, so changed it to corgi homecare.... but business is registered under green installer, not corgi, thats why nothing on companies house.......
£200 for elec/plumbing, dont cover corrision, either, and you cant claim more than £300 per event in 1st 3 mths.....
Anyone that has recieved a letter will noticed they dont actually have your name, just your boiler make.
Also have a look here>>>>> companiesintheuk.co.uk/uk/ltd/green-installer <<<<<<
look towards the bottom.... this company has a outstanding floating charge, that has been recorded against them in April 2011.....
They may have defaulted on a loan from the RBS!!
BEWARE!!
Also if you go to the above website companies in the uk, you will see the director Mark Leslie has had numerous businesses based in edinburgh, all in the property market..... not gas industry!! so expertise???????Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -

Although it may have a separate incorporated status that does NOT mean it is independant of CORGI. CORGI Homecare is a service listed on CORGI's own website: http://www.corgiservices.com/The are called green installer (650 engrs) they have a website greeninstaller . co .uk
Nothing wrong in that. They set up in 2008 sending literature as green installer, not a big take up, so changed it to corgi homecare.... but business is registered under green installer, not corgi, thats why nothing on companies house.......
Not sure what you are trying to prove.£200 for elec/plumbing, dont cover corrision, either, and you cant claim more than £300 per event in 1st 3 mths.....
Policies from other providers also have exclusions!Anyone that has recieved a letter will noticed they dont actually have your name, just your boiler make.
They are offering cover to the owner/occupier of the household where the boiler is installed; people are entitled to move house after installing a new boiler! Also have a look here>>>>> companiesintheuk.co.uk/uk/ltd/green-installer <<<<<<

This is one way that companies can borrow money! They may have defaulted on a loan from the RBS!!

Wild conclusionAlso if you go to the above website companies in the uk, you will see the director Mark Leslie has had numerous businesses based in edinburgh, all in the property market..... not gas industry!! so expertise???????
Different directors bring different skills. If you look at the other director you will see that he is a director (since 2000) of a company that has been offering similar services to CORGI Homecare since 1993.0
