Afternoon Everyone
Glorious day today albeit a bit chilly, so I have been making the most of it, I have done three loads of washing which is now on the line
JackieO ... xxx
Halight :rotfl::rotfl:Thanks for brightening my day you old smoothie you x
We don't celebrate Valentine's these days either, DH wanted to buy me some flowers and I said I would rather not waste money on something that only lasts a week at the most.
DD and her BF have gone to Whipsnade zoo for their Valentine treat which is a nice change from a lot of the commercialism.
Just had a nice lunch of left over beef from yesterday and salad plus there is still lots left so I will make a nice beef curry for DH tonight.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Afternoon!
Butterfly Brain glad to see you back I was worried about you, love. xxx
Halight made me :rotfl: then I struggled to read the thread through my tears after reading jackies post then I was rolling in the aisles and almost slipped off my stool when I got to this
I had the same reaction when I printed the list last night, imagine putting cleaning the oven on Vaentines Day!!! Piggers is a meaniebargainbird wrote: »Well consulted the flylady thread when i got back from school run and saw oven cleaning, promtly logged off
.

We don't really do it here. Well, that's not true, I don't. I love my husband and tell him every day, and now I am older I am not so fussed, but I woke up to a big bunch of flowers this morning and a lovely card fro all three of the men in my life signed from Him, me and it! :rotfl: Having read Jackies post though, I kind of see where she's coming from, and may need to reconsider my position for next year
Empty house, DS2 has gone to a friends, and DH and DS1 have gone out to the ironmongers. Exciting stuff! I had the last wrap made into a quesadilla with chilli and cheese inside for lunch. The leftovers are now finally finished. I am also embarking on low GI this week, but needed to get the leftovers out of the way first - we mostly eat wholemeal pasta and rice and bread anyway, but I will be avoiding bread completely from now on.
Its pouring down here, I am sitting at the desk in the boys' room (the lego has been cleared up) which is south facing, watching the world go by. Its a shame this room is so small, I would like to have it as my bedroom. Lots of laundry to do, the sheets are due a wash too, but will need to wait for tomorrow. Dinner tonight is minestrone with focaccia for the menfolk, and salad and fruit for me. OH is working tonight so no doubt I'll be back later.
Hugs spoons and hi fives all round. Jools hope your DD has a lovely birthday and enjoys Paris.

Hi chums ,gosh I didn't mean to make anyone cry ,today is a day for happiness and hope.My tutor always says the pen is mightier than the sword so when I waffle on a bit about my late OH its just because he was the world to me.
I am sure all of you even the ones who don't celebrate V/D know in your own mind why you get up in the morning and stick the washing machine on and make sure that the kids and your husbands are fed and watered daily .Its the ordinary things in life that show to your partners how much you care for them.I adored my old man, but at times he was so laid back he was almost horizontal, my youngest is very like him bless her.She can smile in the face of adversity where I am more of a practical nature.Alan had a wicked sense of humour that got us through the bad patches which happen in all of our lives ,unemployment, being broke and even strangely enough death .He used to treat life with great joy and total optimism.I'm sure where ever he has gone to he is making everyone laugh there as well.Probably how I coped with losing him was the fact that he hated sadness and cheered everyone up who he came in contact with .I was indeed truly blessed with him.
My DDs sent me some flowers this morning which I thought was a beautiful gesture as they know I still miss him.
I hope you all take a moment at some point today to give your loved ones a cuddle and tell them, whether its your OHs or your children just how much they mean to you. That alone is worth its weight in gold .Everyone likes to be loved for whatever reason.
Tonight I am off to Uni and hopefully my tutor will tell me what she thinks of my last essay about Bazalgette,I'm hoping she's feeling warm and fuzzy as well
:)
Have a great day chums whatever you do
Cheers JackieO

Had a lovely lunch with my DS and a mooch round the charity shops and got a nice flan/pie dish for 99p:money:
will get on with the curry now and have bought a strawberry tart for DH as a little treat as he loves them and if I just buy one instead of making a big one I wont be tempted iykwim.
Have made him a little note with a wolf on it (he was dressed as a wolf the night we met but that's another story:rotfl:):D:heartpuls
Had a very strange dream about a ghost last night called William, I know I have no idea why, there were lots of nuns as well and when I woke up at 3 ish the tv was switching itself on and off. DH said the remote was playing up but I am not so sure spooky_pale_Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Afternoon All
JackieO, could you be my Mum please? I love your posts and know how you feel about not being able to be with the one you love. Cranky, stay strong, it's hard going sometimes.
Halight - what's it like to have so many women to send Valentine's wishes to? Your post made me laugh.
On the Valentine note I got a box of chocs delivered this morning. No idea who has sent them and not sure if I feel a little spooked by it. How do you ask folk if they have sent them?! Anyway they looked very nice but I gave them to my Cousin and her DH as they have gone up to Spean Bridge for the rest of the week. This is my Cousin's 3rd marriage, the first one left her for a Czech student, the second was a big mistake and this one is just lovely, I hope they will be very happy for a long time.
Had a busy weekend with my visitors, went to Edinburgh to watch Scotland get thumped by Wales but the atmosphere was fantastic and managed a good catch up with DS2 as well. Quieter day yesterday, just went for a gentle walk and had a lovely sunday dinner, something I don't have much now I am here myself.
DD is getting the same flight as me to come home from Oz, wont have made a year but she intends to get a work visa and go back soon. Not long till I go and see her.
Happy 21st birthday to Jools DD, hope she has a good time in Paris.
Take care everyone. XX0
