Hello everybody , this is my 1st post but i have been watching the forum for months whilst claiming from A&L. All has gone to plan as you all said. After going through the court process A&L sent a letter saying they were going to defend which gave them 28 days. 14 days later a cheuqe for £2818.06 arrived. I just want to say thanks to everybody who start the threads and to the people who respond to them as they have kept me going and kept the worries at bay. thanks again. jaybo123
P.S. Has anybody had there account closed after being paid out.
thanks , :jaybo123 ::beer: :j :money: :rotfl:
Hi,
I received my charges back last week and have today received a letter advising me that they will be closing my account on 13 May.
I remember reading somewhere that you can sue for retaliatory account closing does anyone know where the thread is or a template I can use?0 -

Hi again,
I'm sure I've read on a few of the threads that it costs £100 in court costs. You'll be notified of your local court in due course ... if you want to know sooner, you could always give them a ring and I'm sure they'll let you know.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
Hi Mimijane, I thought you had to put the name of the court in the 3rd letter you send to them threatening them with court action?Experian credit score as of Feb 2016 - 116

Hi vtr2007,
They have to give your statements, i got mine on time, but I have been reading threads saying some peoples have been coming late, think its just they got so many to send out thats taking them so long. When is your forty days up??:o0 -

This is from Martins step guide hope it helps.
VICTORY. The bank does nothing. This is a very common outcome; often the bank simply doesn’t acknowledge the claim and this means you automatically win by default 14 days after the claim is served (which takes 5 days). At that point, you must request ‘judgment by default’, this can be done online, and you should do it as soon as possible (get it in your diary and plan around it to the second if possible) after the 14 days ends.Not Buying it 2015!0 -
I am having BIG problems with A & L. I have sent several letters, got the print out from them of the charges and have now been told that they are not willing to pay out as "you agreed to our charges when you opened your account"! The call centre operatives are all trained to say "no" very firmly. My next step is the small claims avenue but as I live in Scotland, I'm going to have to raise 2 small claims. I have the feeling they will fight it tooth and nail.0
