Have you checked your credit report. I went unauthorized overdrawn for 14 days and have had "2 missed payments" put on my credit report and got charged £75 for the pleasure. There is nothing in their terms and conditions about this0

I didnt really use the account. All I was doing was putting £500 in and taking £500 through automated direct debits each month.
For some reason or another I changed the dates for the in-coming and out-going direct debits. Which left me overdrawn by about £500 for about 6 days.
So they charged me £25 for paying out the outgoing direct debit- i think they called it 'paid transaction charge'.
I called customer service and they agreed to pay back £12.50. They did.
I wrote to customer service and they refunded the remaining £12.50. I was delighted. Got my money back I though.
When I got my next bank statement, on it they said they would charge me £25 go going overdrawn. And a further £25 for staying overdrawn for for than 5 days.
I write to customer servicem, BEFORE the charges were actually applied and asked them not to take my money. But they took it anyway.
Today I recieved the reply to my letter. It basically said that they were right to charge me and the charges were in line with what other institutions charge.
They didnt say anything about whether they considered they charges to be legal or not. In my initial letter I mentioned that I was asking them not to take my money as I belived them to be illegal.
Anyway......
So here I am £50 short.
What shall I do next.......0 -

Hi. I'm a student and have a current account with Alliance and Leicester. I sent the first template letter and they politely refused saying that it is in accordance with their Terms and Conditions. I have used the second template and will be posting it tomorrow. They have had £409 from me in charges. Sometimes however, it has been my fault, for example if i was a couple of quid short of a direct debit and then charges for honouring the direct debit (approx £30) and three sets of £25 charges added to my account within a week. My thing is...am i still eligible with my being a student and, on some occasions (not all!) it was my fault? I don't have an overdraft with them, does it still count? I'm just really worried i will not receive any money from them....and i need it as i owe back-rent for where i am living! Someone help!
Yes Lindsay, My Son is a student and i helped him claim back £575.25 off Alliance and Leicester last month thanks to Martin's Template letters, We had to go as far as the small claims court, but only waited 12 days before the cheque arrived in the post0 -
can i still claim against them event though i have had letters for recovery of debt off moorcroft debt recovery?0

Hello everybody , this is my 1st post but i have been watching the forum for months whilst claiming from A&L. All has gone to plan as you all said. After going through the court process A&L sent a letter saying they were going to defend which gave them 28 days. 14 days later a cheuqe for £2818.06 arrived. I just want to say thanks to everybody who start the threads and to the people who respond to them as they have kept me going and kept the worries at bay. thanks again. jaybo123
P.S. Has anybody had there account closed after being paid out.
thanks , :jaybo123 ::beer: :j :money: :rotfl:0 -

I'm slightly worried about my claim as I included monthly OD charges (which I've since learned shouldn't be included in the majority of cases). No idea what is going to happen as I've just started the court process. Just hope this isn't used as a delay tactic by A&L. Anyone else included these charges?Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0
