Yeah, i think thats pretty much the same as i picked up from my door mat yesterday morning.

I'm going to take them to court too... just need the £120 to do it!!

Best of luck ... let's all keep each other posted!

I'm claiming nearly £4k for a relative who's just lost her husband and is in no fit state to go to court, so hoping and praying it doesn't go that far. I'm submitting the court jargon online today.
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS

Dont worry, will definitely be keeping everyone posted!

On another note, I was thining of how i'm going to go through working out the interest again without having to go through martins calulator again...

    I found this online http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/campaigns/bankcharges/article.html?in_article_id=417955&in_page_id=507

Which is an excel spreadsheet that works it out for you... Havent checked it against martins yet, but it looks accurate and will update on its own (it works from the date on youer ocmputer clock)

  • Hi. I'm a student and have a current account with Alliance and Leicester. I sent the first template letter and they politely refused saying that it is in accordance with their Terms and Conditions. I have used the second template and will be posting it tomorrow. They have had £409 from me in charges. Sometimes however, it has been my fault, for example if i was a couple of quid short of a direct debit and then charges for honouring the direct debit (approx £30) and three sets of £25 charges added to my account within a week. My thing is...am i still eligible with my being a student and, on some occasions (not all!) it was my fault? I don't have an overdraft with them, does it still count? I'm just really worried i will not receive any money from them....and i need it as i owe back-rent for where i am living! Someone help! :(
  • Nice one eyeball0001, I will bring my statements to work 2moz and giv it a try. How did you come accross that? ? ? I have saved it to my computer ready,

I was trying to work out how to do it myself and I posted a thread on here to ask if anyone had any idea... I then googled it and it turned up, thought it'd be useful.... credit to whoever built it cos it wasn't me!

I was being a bit geeky in the way that i have managed to get Excel to automatically input the Charge detail and amount as soon as I put one number in a column - so a 2 would give me a reversed DD and put £25 in my charge column - saved a lot of typing/copy&paste...

Great calculator you found eyeball, i did copy my original martins calculator amounts to a spreadsheet on excel, but this one is ace, as I started my claim back in December, so the interest should be more by the day.

So the bank will be sorry for delaying.

How come they are delaying it so much? Are you with A & L? ? ? Surely with all the letters and the x days to reply it should of bin done and dusted ages ago? ? ?

  • Just phoned A & L chasing the second lot of statements from them as the 40 days is up tomorrow, apparantly I havent sent a letter for that account  , Funny though, two cheques for £10 that I sent to them on the same day (Cheque's stapled to the letter's) both cheques cleared on 19/03/07.
She said she is getting onto it and will get them out ASAP, and said I WILL receive them tomorrow, lets wait and see, I knew they would mess about with this account as I think they took the mick with this one (not like the other account £670 in 6mths  ), this account goes over a few years and was the main account with most DD and SO coming out of it, well they were suppost to. (rough patch in mine and OH lives, if you read the forums you would know)

She stuck by her word and I have received my statements today, funny how the posted them out so quickly when yesterday I was told that they hadnt received a letter from me, thats what a bit of threatning does.
