BobbyDrake50 No still received nothing, I am going to ring them up after lunch (my daily trip home to see if they have arrived) just to warn them they have intill weds and they are loosing 4 days with bank holiday, If i havent got them by weds post I am going straight to Information Commissioner. I sent my 1st letter 1st march, cheque cleared out of my account on 19th march, they took there time, (i am currently waiting for 2 lots of statements as I am claiming for x2 accounts from A&L)
:T I am really glad you have received yours thats a nice sum for a couple of years, I bet you wish your were with them longer now. LOL :rotfl: . So what have you spent yours on, and dont say you havent thought about what you are going to do with the extra money, as it pretty much yours now, no1 is loosing. . .
I put it to my OH last night that we use Barclays as our main bank accout instead of Natwest, I know they had loads of bad press with the "Whistleblower" programme but I have never had any problems with them, and I have had my bank account's with them for nearly 15yrs (I think), they have always treated me and my financial situation properly unlike Natwest, I asked Natwest to send all bank statements, new bank cards, cheques books to my rents address as my OH had a gambling problem, ended up on my doorstep then had the nerve to cancel my cheque book when my OH forged my sig on a cheque for £600, Whereas Barclays did as i asked and sent everything to my rents house intill I said other wise.Experian credit score as of Feb 2016 - 116

I wrote to Alliance & Leicester Commercial to reclaim bank charges on our account and have been advised that 'as this is a business account it is not classed as a living individual and therefore the terms of the Data Protection Act do not apply' and they are not able to furnish us with any date relating to the manual interventions taking place on our account.
Is this true?? Can i still pursue the repayment of charges??? what do i need to do next please??0 -

I have today received 1 set of my last 6 years statements, just need to wait for the other, suprise suprise I have recieved the ones with the least amount of charges on, but hay atleast i have them, I am sooo chuffed. I have loads of mths missing but I think I forgot about that bank account intil I set up for internet banking, plus my charges dont start intill I met my OH. Typical.
Help needed
If i am to send letter 2 to them on Tuesday 10th April and give them 14 days to reply (takes it to 24th april) and then give them a further 7 days to reply to letter 3 (this takes it to about the 1st May), this is the date that I am going on holiday for one whole week, how can i get around this? ? ? There is NO WAY I will be able to enjoy a holiday wondering what is happening and have I got a cheque.
What the hell, see ya, I am going to do the letter now and quickly take it to the post office today then 4 days of the 14 are used up on bank holidays :rotfl:Experian credit score as of Feb 2016 - 116

Quick, thick question, I have posted letter 2 to A & L today( for 1 account), this is the (14 days) [strike]7 days [/strike]to respond letter, do you do [strike]7[/strike] (14 days) [strike]days[/strike] from date of letter or [strike]7 days [/strike]from date they receive it, just that being bank holiday they are not going to get it until tuesday.
I have also added on Interest charges that they have added to my account since the account has closed, only because they took my monthly O/D money out which made me overdrawn and then lots of charges after that, the account then got closed, yet every month they charge me 50% interest on what I am paying them back, to clear the account, if that makes sense. . But hay this is A & L nothing makes sense when they are involvedExperian credit score as of Feb 2016 - 116

Firstly the templates state 14 days not 7 for the LBA. It should be 14 days from when they receive it really (send by registered post so you know the date) as they can't react to something they haven't received and you're both at the mercy of the postal service.0 -
HI, advise needed, I accidentally went £3.00 overdrawn for 6 days with the Alliance & Leicester - it is a little used account and I paid my lottery through the internet without realising it used the debit card from this account I thought it was my usual account (doh - & I never won) - I only found out by accident as I was ringing to check the balance for another reason expecting to be in credit and was shocked to find out I was overdrawn - I put £10 cash into my branch account as soon as I realised but by this time I had been overdrawn for 6 days.
A&L charged £25 for first day overdrawn and £25 for fifth day overdrawn - surely with a charge of £25 a courtesy call or letter wouldnt have gone amiss to justify the charge as it was obviously an unusual occurance, I dread to think how much the charges would have been if I hadnt realised until my bank statement arrived 3 weeks later !
I printed of the sample template letter filled in my details and posted off - I have had a response today from them offering to refund £37.50 of the charges - should I accept considering I was overdrawn by £3 for 6 days is this justifiable for such a small amount for such a short time.
Or should I pursue for full refund ?
Thanks in Advance to anyone :rolleyes:0 -
Its up to you but I would go to the bank and ask for it all back. If you explain what happen they might just let you off (assuming you havent done it before). YB let me off about the same ammount but I had to go to the branch. Remeber to be assertive...they smell fear....Stick to YOUR timescale. Dont take ANY bull. DONT be intimidated. The law is on OUR side.
Feel free to thank me if I was a help

My wife paid it off for me,and they closed my account. The question is,now the i feel better, can i claim the charges back??? I feel very angry,& bitter to the way the bank treated me,at a time when i was ill.Thank you in advance, for any help, anyone can give me!!
