Mimi,
Have you got a copy of the statement of evidence as I am struggling to open on CAG site,
Thanks Mandy:j :j :j :j0 -
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know how my case is goin so far.
I filed my claim in March and originally got a court date for 26th May, a week before I was due to go to court my date was postponed by the ead judge. My new date is now 26th June.
Anyway i put together my bundle and sent a copy off to wragge & the courts office. Funnily enough when I emailed wragge to see if they got theirs - they hadn't - even though I had proof with a signature. A bit strange how the courts received thiers and Wragge didnt.
Well - moving on, Wragge sent a couple of snottery letters as I told them i woudlnt be resending the info because as far as i was concerned they had got it. Then all of a sudden my solicitor was changed to a local one here in Northern Ireland.
Tell you what i nearly peed myself when i got thier letter as there was problems with someone representing A&L in court as they were only down the road.
So i sent my bundle to them as well with an offer of the full amount less interest and fees.
I ahdnt heard anything for a couple of weeks so emailed them to see if they had got everything. I had a reply to call them, so I did. I spoke to a very nice who is now in the process of reccommending to A&L that they pay me what i offered.
I think my only saving grace is that A&L had originally offered me that amount but I wanted the court fee as well - well now i'm quite with the charges and no court fee.
So i'm just waiting to hopefully hear when i get my money!!
Will let you know how i get on.
Also another guy in exactly the same boat as me has had a letter today from the same solicitor asking to phone them next Tuesday - I think A&L are starting to pay out again a couple of weeks before court.
I was told on the phone that my case would be wrapped up before court - i got the impression that there was no intention of anyone going to court at all.
Good luck everyone - i'm back to being veyr confident about this again!!!!!0 -
Yep. I got the letter today asking me to phone the solicitors next Tuesday. I can't see what else they would be looking me for0

Think I will give wragge and co a call just before I submit my court bundle, you never know they may offer to settle and save the cost of all the photocopying etc.....

It does depend on your individual circumstances, if your not happy with this original offer and you can afford to hold out a bit longer, carry on for the extra money until you are happy
Good Luck!!!!NATWEST Amount Claimed £2860 Amount Received £2860
CLYDESDALE FINANCIAL SERVICES Amount Claimed £85.00 Amount Received £42.500 -
Have just heard on the news that 30 cases against banks(don't know which ones) are being heard in London today...although I have now settled, this will prove very interesting for those of you still waiting for court cases. Hope it supports your cases!!!! Good Luck!!0

You can actually accept the cheque as a "part payment, without prejudice" and legally still continue your claim for the remainder. Write back to them accepting it on these terms. Keep a copy for your records.
Without knowing exactly what the solicitor's letter says, it is impossible to advise on this.
