This is the second offer this week from A+L's solicitors!!!! I'm getting really nervous as I haven't been made one and i'm in court in a couple of weeks.
I tried seboyds suggestion I.E ringing to see if the received the court bundle which is what she done and the solicitor said they are recommending that A+l refund the entire amount, I do this and get told yes they have received it and thats it.
Add to that I bet none of you's have got phoned by the solicitor to see if you are defending yourself or not, or wheather or not you are bringing any witnesses0 -
Congratulations sixxdog, that's great! Can I ask what proportion of your claim you accepted?
Sure, i went for 70% Approx of my original amount claimed , and we split the difference with the court costs.
I don't see it as a case of 'I lost £xxx pounds , but i got back money i thought I'd never see again, so all is good
I weighed up the amount offered against the added hassle of going on , and to be honest , i think it's a fair deal.
Thank you all for your support and advice during this claim i think i would have caved in long before now otherwise.
Cheers,

Hi,
I have used all the letters from this site and got reply's but no money,
I have a court date for 12th July calling date 5/07/07.
On Monday i got a letter ( dated 7th June ) from A & L with a cheque for £347.00 and i am claiming £1291.91 for which i sent back today Wednesday (13th June )saying i did not accept this amount, and today (wednesday 13th June ) in the post i got a letter from Wragge & Co saying A& L will defending saying they intend to defend the claim. On one hand they are sending a cheque and at the same time they are sending a letter from Wragge & Co i am a little confused i do not know what will be next ( hope a cheque for the full amount ) will have to wait and see i suppose or is there any one by this stage that can guide me, i do not know if i have to contact the court or not .
I do hope someone can help me ( and also understand me.):money:

Ok then, I thought all was going well.....
I went through MCOL, the bank (in my case Alliance and Leicester) did not acknowledge the claim and I won through default. I then requested a warrant be issued which was approved and sent off to the bailiffs for action.
Today I checked MCOL to see the status of the warrant to find that is said "UNFULFILLED" and a brief explanation that
"The Bailiff has been unable to recover the amount shown on the warrant. You are unable to take any further action online on this warrant."
How can this be when I gave the address of a bank!? Surely an international bank could afford £2790 !? FYI - I used the Carlton Park address in Narborough, Leicester to send the warrant to. Would this have made a difference?
I am now slightly confused as to what I can do next? Can anyone help me?0 -
Problem being, Bailiffs can only gain access to the loby, and what sits in a loby, chairs, water machines etc..0

Am due in court the 19th july, i rang the solictors just checking to whom i send my correspondence to and was very surprised when an offer was made over the phone to me, hence, it was less than half than what my charges amount to, so i politely refused.
I am starting to feel confident about what i have put together for court, even though i was only asked for bank statements and charges, i have added lots of articles with the help of others on the forum, so it should make interesting reading! Am very impressed myself, once you start, you cant stop,
Will let you know of any further developments,

DJ have the solicitors sent a "bundle" out to all parties to comply with the judges directions? Were they asked to by a specific date? If they don't get their papers in on time, you can apply for judgement by default and hopefully get a full settlement.Wins since 2009 = £17,600MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS0 -
Hi mimi,
Just to let you know, thanks for your index, ive dowloaded lots of pieces from it, would you include the "unfair terms in consumer contracts regulations" and "unfair contract terms act 1977" and "the supply of goods and servicesact 1982", if so , knowing what the court has asked from me, are these very lengthy to download and also shall i include "terms and conditions" if so which ones, i know the court hasnt asked me for them, was just wondering should i,
thanks,

They have sent nothing out, don't know if they where supposed to, When I was due in court 25th May they hadn't sent them out by 21st May, but since this has got relisted to 29th June theres time for them yet, I have mine away and thats all that matters I suppose, It says on the letter to be received no later than 10 days before the hearing0 -
Hi,
This seems to be happening to all of us, yes, you get an offer for a tiny amount, on the same day you get letter from solictors to say that they are defending, this sems to be standard from both A&L and solictors,
Im due in court 19th july, i didnt realise that anyone was ahead of me, i was advised to ring the court out of courtesy and to say that i would be attendingand also to ask if i need to send them anything else or only what they have asked me for.
What has your letter asked you to submit to the court,
Nappy0
