Hi,I paid off a mortgage a while ago but when I had the account I was sometimes late with monthly payments and incurred late payment fees of £50 a time. They also charged me for a "failed direct debit" of about £30 aswell.I would like to claim these back.It amounts to a few hundred £.Do I approach this in exactly the same way as the bank charges? Can anyone help? Theyre just rip off fees exactly the same as the banks charge.
Thanks in advance!:T0 -

Yes you can claim these back also and in the exact same way you reclaim the bank charges,
Good luck

Hi, don't know if this is in the right place or not! A few years ago we had a secured loan with paragon personal finance. We eventually paid it off. While we had it, we were charged late fees of £25 (at least) on quite a few occasions. Is it possible to claim these back?0

Hi, Ive just registered on this site as I had a letter this morning from HSBC about my request to see my loan charges.
Ill quote their response:We note that the account you are requesting statements for, as mentioned above, is a Loan Account. As this will not have incurred charges in the same manner as a current account, we have not provided this information to you.
I used the template letter from this site to ask for these charges but it seems not to have done the job. So how do I go about asking for this information?
*EDIT* Just got off the phone to them and they said the charges for my loan were applied to my current account. Still waiting to hear back from them about that. Its been 34 days so approaching the 40 day time limit.0
