    Afternoon all,

Cold here and windy, have put on a wash of things that would benefit from a blow on the line, they will be finished soon.

OH really doesn't help my efforts to be frugal....out for breakfast again this morning, admittedly paid for by him from his pocket money, but am getting fed up of eating out, especially as we are out to-night for dinner, my treat for my brother's birthday....birthday was in November but every time we arranged a night something happened to put it off so its really happening at last.

Cranky...thank you for the nice remarks about the grannies here. Not sure what to say about your MIL....I hate that I only see my 3 grand-daughters infrequently as they don't live near.

DD4 is coming in a bit for a cuppa, we were going to take dogs for a walk but it seems to have got colder so maybe not, they seem happy enough outside barking at every unfortunate bird that happens to land on a tree in the garden!

Welcome newbies, we really are a nice friendly bunch....you can ignore Halight, he is really just a nice enough young lad who fancies himself something rotten!

Not much OS happening here to-day, might do a bit of knitting later on or even iron a thing or 2 if I'm really bored.

    Thinking of you Mrs MH

Enjoy the rest of your day

    Afternoon All

I havent managed to post this week. It has been a very busy week both at work and home, just one week to go before half term so hoping to do a lot of catching up. It is a beautiful day here, sun is shining, a few crocus out and so is the washing! It is lovely to see the washing blowing in the breeze. Lots of washing to do as DD landed home from Uni for the weekend. Having a "look in the freezer" tea as we need to save some serious money. On the job front it looks like (after the restructuring has been done) that I will have a job of some sorts. DH who is also going through restructuring reports that after a meeting this week it is likely that he too will have a job of some sorts, so a HUGE sigh of relief at the Pollys household.
Well must dash and do some catching up on the boards.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

    Hi again

Not a real lot of OS to report, bedding washed and dried on the line, need to re-make the bed in a mo. It has been a really nice day today, and the shorts got an airing, but the sun is off the patio now, and time for a shower as we are off out about 6.30pm.

B - was Weetabix (Aldi's own brought with us) with Skimmed Milk & Banana
L - 2 sugar free digestives with some Camembert. Found some in the new supermarket yesterday, and it was called Giant Camembert, About 50mm high, so more cheese with less rind. Not seen it before, will have a look when I get back. Then spoilt it by sharing a Chocolate bun with DH :o.

Have called the WW diet off, considering the LC, but may wait till I get home, too many temptations atm. Still cutting back, and keeping to Black Coffee, and sharing any sweet temptations with DH so I only get half the calories:D

Welcome to the newbies :hello: Great news ont he Pizza's. Yes we do share tips on here, but we waffle a litttle too (sorry mod's). You will find us a friendly bunch.

    Take care all - DG

front door lock replaced with new barrel and trigger--heavy duty model -cost 20 quid including the labour---i dont begrudge that because last time i did a door in the uk with a cheap bq yale lock it was about 15 quid for the lock and i had to go there and back plus fit it myself-so about 1,30mins of effort and 15 miles of petrol in my car-this little man came within 20 minutes of being summonsed and was pollite and clean(and did a good job)--no effort apart from opening the door reqd!
right second half of footie is on--mrs de is home from work and starting dinner--its 6,05 and i still have my pjs on!!
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.
  • Think I wore myself out doing HW and cooking - shattered now.

Lovely weather, shame I had no washing to hang out :(, had a nice walk though.

Shortbread was scrumptious - made with butter though  and the butternut/chickpea soup is fab too - very pleased with myself. The soup recipe states 'serves 4' , well I've not skimped on the servings and I have two bowls in the fridge and 6 portions going in the freezer ...and it's so thick you could spread it in toast :)

Cup of tea time I think!

  • hello all and welcome newbies :)

had to buy DS some work boots as he starts his 1st ever job tomorrow, he thought they provided boots until a phone call today so was a bit of a panic moment  some good deals online but needed them today, googled a bit and found an online shop that also existed in the real world and wasn't too far away :j so managed to get the boots with steel toe caps for £19.99 which I thought was a good price.

DH was walking the dog and spotted a skip, he went back later with the car and knocked on the door, they said "help yourself" so he came home with a garden gate, 2 trestle panels with flower planters on the bottoms and a large silver suitcase on wheels :j

Just been in Homebase and the exact same trestle panels are £29.99 each :T

So far DD's BF seems to be making an effort but I'm still not convinced, he has a lot to make up for.

Loulou I hope DS got to sleep soon after you posted on FB xx

Will read the rest of thread later, just realised we've no biscuits  so will make some Twinks, still haven't tried these yet so fingers crossed I don't mess them up :rotfl:

Hope you're all having a good day, will probably be back later, hugs xx

  • Made Twinks, they are delicious  will definetly make these again although will make them a bit smaller next time. DS was a bit suspicious of 'home made' biscuits but he took a bite and went "mmm" :rotfl:thanks to Twinks for the recipe :T
