Have found out from tesco credit card they are going to be posting
out vouchers for 650 points over the next few weeks. You need to take voucher instore to customer services and have the points added on. So we should hopefully all get them on our August statement

Likewise. You need to take the card along with the voucher to get the points added, though.

Or call O8456 040409 'if you're unable to get this coupon scanned at a Tesco store'. Plenty of geographical alternatives to that number at saynoto0870.

Co-incidentially I didnt realise that 'world mastercard' was anything different to normal 'mastercard' when my latest tesco card came...until

Today, after a painful root canal treatment my dentist tells me they no longer accept 'world mastercard's due to the high fees they are charged...but they do accept normal mastercard

Called Mr Tesco & they say that the 'world' name is just Tesco branding rather than the different Mastercard product with higher loading. Come on Mr T, even my granny can see thats bull.

If its not good enough for the dentist its no good to me...time to switch back to visa.

They aren't allowed to do that - you should find out who their merchant account is with and let them know.
  • Hi guys
sorry to jump in on this thread, but not too sure where else to ask. This thread seems very relevant in any case.
Ive got the basic tesco clubcard credit card 3 months ago. Ive found it great for giving some extra points. 1 point for every £4 spend-however a friend was telling me how his platinum gives 1 point on every £2. Im yet to see any major disadvantage for me as I use it for day to day spending and pay off in full monthly.
My real question is, how do I get the upgrade to a platinum? Must I be a regular and worthy customer for e.g. 12 months? Or is there any minimum amount I need to spend monthly etc??
    Many thanks

Wouldn't Tesco be the best people to ask? :)

Are you sure? Don't believe this dentist gets charged different fees for different brands of Mastercard ... more likely he just wanted you to pay cash and made something up as he went along. How does he know? Has he got a long list or something with every possible different mastercard issued worldwide listed on it and a different rate for each?

sorry to bother you all but has anybody received their annual 650 points now that their finest mastercard upgrade has been open a year. I still have the leaflet stating that the 650 extra points is yearly along with 1 point for every £2 spent but when I ring Tesco bank regarding this they don't seem to know about the yearly 650 extra points.

    many thanks for any help.

I received mine on the weekend. Came as a separate letter to the usual mailing and was marked confidential.
