Seems to apply to all their cards:

*Sorry, points are not awarded on tobacco or tobacco related products, lottery, stamps, prescription medicines, infant formulae milk, Tesco Gift Cards, saving stamps, Esso fuel, in store concessions, Paypoint payments or for purchases of some Tesco Bank products. Other products may also be excluded from the scheme at the discretion of Tesco.

I'm trying to work out how many points I get at the moment. Collect them mainly on a Tesco bank Visa card (not fuel) on purchases outside of the store. It is a purple card which I've had for years.
My letter says "your new card will still allow you to collect clubcard points on whatever you buy, wherever you buy it - 1 clubcard point for every £2 you spend on your card"
Do you think I'll be getting more than that already? I have another Visa and mastercard credit card so covered in that respect. Use this one solely to accumulate points which I swop for deals.
I've logged onto my clubcard account online but I can't find any details. I know I only have until tomorrow if I want to keep the card. Thanks for any advice the 0845 number has a queue at the moment. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

I was told I would not get a written confirmation that I was not upgrading.

No new card yet, but they have sent a revised Direct Debit notification, and that has the new account number on it. Card to follow shortly, I imagine.
Not that I'll be using it much - the 1% from Capital One's a much better deal.
Update 14/3: Wrong about that - the 'new' card arrived today, complete with new account number. It's another Tesco Finest Platinum (Visa) though, because the existing one's about to expire.
Recurring transactions all have to be changed because of the new number, and they'll have to be changed again when the World Mastercard arrives. if anyone from Tesco happens to be reading this thread, that is NOT customer service, and it's one of the reasons I'm switching away from using a Tesco card.0 -
I haven't had mine yet either. Natwest did a similar switch from maestro to visa and the card took months to arrive.
Going back a bit I always thought the "no points on Esso Fuels" was stores that has an Esso branded fuel station attached to their store. Therefore you won't get the normal clubcard points but you do get the Tesco Finance points from using your credit card.
Also I pay my balance off every month so if somewhere doesn't accept mastercard it doesn't pose a problem I'll just use cash or debit card.0 -
So what's the difference between a World Mastercard and a normal Mastercard anyway?0
