Mine have arrived too preactivated and ready to go. Old card still worked today so I'll test the new card before disposing of the old card. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Apparently some have been sent to those who opted out and this is a system error.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I think I am being conned by this but am not sure. I have a Tesco credit card which I have had for ever. Over 7 Years at least. Deal in points terms was definately better than if you took one out a few years ago. Someone I know well also had one. A while back maybe in the last two years we were both asked (cannot remember how) to move to mastercard. I phoned up and said wanted to keep Visa and they said fine. Friend didn't and he now has a Tesco Mastercard. I assumed with no change in points but I cannot be sure.
Now I received this letter but he did not. He is mad as it is offering me 650 points a year for something he did for no reward.
I am concerned that I will lose points moving to the Mastercard but didn't recieve the info in time to say no. I am not always here.
I phoned up and Tesco said the following I was too late to keep my old Visa card but when I got my new Mastercard I could phone up and get it down graded to a Visa. Will I therefore lose the old points deal I had and also the 650 points. What should I do?0 -
In the last few days I've received new (replacement) Tesco Platinum Visa cards (self and wife), and new World Mastercards. Both appear to be valid, and Tesco have set up new direct debits for both - the Visa came with a different number from the old Visa. I'm assuming that at some point the Visa will cease to function, but there's no word on this from Tesco.0

I am one of these unfortunates. I too have held a Tesco Visa Card for many years and earn far more points than current deals. I phoned to opt out on 12th Feb and they still went ahead (cards arrived this weekend). To make things worse I have booked flights for a party of people and hire car that require me to present the card used when booking. I called their customer care to be told "there was nothing they could do", but they are "very sorry". A great comfort.... I have demanded to speak to someone with the authority to reimburse me 7 flights to Italy and the hire of a Renault Espace for 2 weeks! I am waiting for a callback. The girl I spoke to said there were many customers who had opted out and still been sent cards - Tesco is investigating. If you have opted out - PHONE AND CHECK NOW BEFORE YOU GET THE CARD!0 -
OH and I both have Tesco credit cards - his is a Visa card with me as an authorised user and mine a Mastercard with him as authorised user (I don't use the Mastercard as it is used purely for his business expenses).
Yesterday we received replacement 'black' Mastercards so cut up old ones but when OH went to put petrol in last night the Pin wouldn't work. When I rang to find out what was going on, it turns out that the new Mastercard replaces the Visa card (confused yet? we were) and we no longer have a Visa card. I asked what would happen if I want to order Olympic tickets, as I now no longer have a Visa card and they said sorry, it was a service improvement :mad::mad:. When I complained and said I wanted a Visa card not another Mastercard they said they could issue me with a new Visa card but it would be a different number so I need to change any accounts / STO's registered to the old card.
I asked for the MD of Tesco Finance details and apparently they aren't allowed to tell me. What a complete c**k up - I never asked for this and had no notification in advance that it was going to happen. Just another example of Tesco getting too big for their boots methinks and taking their customers for granted.0 -

I opted out so I phoned this morning to check and have been assured that I am definitely still down as Visa and no new cards have been issued.
