    Morning all,

OH told me last night we have a meal this weekend with some of the locals. Only picked an overpriced pretencious hotel restaurant haven't they! I went there a year or two ago and had the smallest chicken portion i've ever seen and I had to pay extra for sides. Looking forward to £70 before even buying drinks.....

Bet you wouldn't mind if it was a decent restaurant - I hate being ripped off like that. Lets hope that the menu has improved for the money you could be spending...

Nope I wouldn't mind if it was half decent or at least gave normal sized portions. Oh well things we have to do to settle in with the village folk.

Bad news though about my car. Driving along today something went bang, seems one of my suspension springs has either snapped or broken somehow. That and my exhaust is looking rather rusty. In the garage tomorrow to get them fixed.

On top of that OH tax disc is up for renewal.

All in all doesn't leave me with much hope of an OP this month.

  • So dropped off the car this morning, was a very slow and bumpy journey to the garage. Couldn't fully turn corners without my wheel catching on the inside lol. Oh well will be fixed soon enough.

Sold another item on ebay so thats £17, still got to list some more iems but I just seem to be struggling to find the time at the moment.

  • Morning all,

Had a rather hectic weekend in the end. We had that overly expensive meal and a few drinks after. I was the taxi back so being the only sober person is not fun.

Had our overgrown trees and hedges trimmed and a dead tree taken down. Was very cheap as a favour by a mate so I can't complain there.

Going to have to go out for lunch today as OH appears to have not realised we have no bread left, so no packup for me today.

  • Afternoon all,

So we went to QMC today so see our third consultant for DD2. This DR's specialisty is respiratory, however after travelling the 1hr30 to get there it turns out he was off that day so we had to settle for his junior who basically decided it was best to sit down and review all the previous tests before deciding what to do next..... complete waste of time.

We had been hoping for something more concrete ready for telling the travel insurance. The trust has however got funding for a new infra-red breathing monitor for her though so not all bad, just everything seems to take so long and we are no nearer the end than we were a year ago it seems.

Have got football tonight and after a few peope commenting that my waist line appears to be expaning I suppose I need to make more of an effort than just football once a week. So I will cutting back on the muffins for breakfast and the mid meal snacks along with getting out my weights in the garage. Suppose I better skip the fish 'n' chips tonight too :(

Off to the in-laws at the weekend so thats a full tank of gas sadly. This month is looking more and more like a bad month for money. I say bad I know we are in a fortunate position at 28 & 26 to be surviving comfortably off one salary without really cutting back on many of our overheads.

Tough game at Everton next, I can see it being a draw.

Not much activity on MSE matters, unless there are some further large unexpected bills I hope I will be able to do an OP of around £500.

  • Morning all,

Off to the in-laws this weekend so sadly that will be a tank full of diesel :( On the bright side the FIL has sky sports so I get to watch some footy at least.

Nothing new to add to the OP pot, still got items to ebay but been a bit ill past few days so had early nights instead of doing it.

  • Morning all,

Back from the in-laws. On the way there I put my foot down and made great time however on the way back with MIL i took it somewhat slower and noticed the "bus" managed an extra five miles per gallon. Im tempted to trial in my car on the way to work how much it would save me if I went at a steadier speed. See if I can survive of £20 a week.

Not a whole lot to mention on MSE matters, at least not monies that are incoming. Passport forms are filled in so that cost is imminent now.

We were in a rather posh garden centre the other day and I realised exactly how much of an ideal shopper for a salesman my OH actually is. They can sell her anything, even things we already have..... its a nightmare. She is really into this idea of buying a new lawn mower which is self propelled, which in principle I agree with however I don't think its a purchase I need in the next week or two let alone a top of the range one!
