  • Well they say no news is good news but I really haven't had much to report of late. Its that awkward time of the month when you are waiting for payday.

Have done some outside jobs and I am picking up a mower this weekend (FIL bought a bowling green mower and has refurbed it).

Decided to build the gate myself but haven't bought the wood yet.

  • Nightmare! Lost £20 note last night, can't figure out where but it must have dropped out of my pocket. It was my fish n chip money too!

Luckily the chippy let me have it and I can pay for it next time. (I guess thats a sign I go too much lol).

This months OP is looking good, I should be able to make around £2000 however I need to buy the wood so might transfer £1500.

  • Ended up making a £2000 OP for April, getting me back on track for the year now. 16 months into the house and paid of £17,300 extra. Happy with that even if it could have been more had it not been for those windows and house repairs.

Off to the in-laws this weekend so thats another full tank of fuel. Will set of this evening, I prefer travelling in the evening/night a much faster time to travel, maybe not so good for my miles per gallon mind.

36 days until the summer holiday, I suppose I better cut back on those fish n chips in prerperation, all includive is going to be a nightmare for the waistline.

  • Morning all,

Well what a wet weekend that was and I had to drive back home in that during the peak of the rain. A fair few villages were flooded that I passed through and we had worried our beck by our house might have flooded into our drive. Luckily that wasn't the case (although the water was flowing past at some speed).

Picked up the balls for the top of the gate posts this weekend, still no further on with ordering the wood though. But I don't have a free weekend for the next 6 or 7 weeks anyway.

  • Hi MCI,

The OH has already been packing the bags and even gone to the extreme of setting out oufits for each day. I worry sometimes.

Only thing I am waiting on still are the kids passports.... they cashed the cheques a couple of weeks ago but still not had anything back from them.
    Hopefully they arrive soon.

  • So had the weekend away camping and it was nice but COLD.
It has made us consider ditching the tent for a caravan. Now I would get one but half of me is considering the fact that its money I would have used for the mortgage, but then again its something that we would use alot and the kids would enjoy breaks away whilst still young.

So i am going to think it over for a while before acting (besides I still need to take the towing test anyway).

Looked into the costs a bit more and so far they are:
    - Towbar £350
    - Trailer test £140
    - Lessons (average 10 hours needed), cost unknown

I think I will get a towbar fitted anyway as on a normal DL you can tow up to 750kg which is hardy for when shifting rubbish suppose.

Sold our mower on ebay for £200 just need to get a self propelled one now and then I can sell our current rotary too.

Countdown to the holiday has begun and we have everything we need except some spare Euros. Passports have all arrived, have the car parking sorted, the OH has even packed some bags already!

yay indeed, had it been delayed I might have started to get a bit worried :rotfl:

Been thinking over this caravan and I just can't think whats best. Its alot of money which will obviously delay the MF dreams but so did the windows and to some degree this summer holiday. But then again the point of being MF is being free enough to enjoy the extra cash to do things with the kids, but in the meantime am I holding them back by being too "tight".

OH has a mini car boot sale this weekend and i am at my old mans place with the kids.

    Jobs for the weekend
    - Look at a new self propelled mower
    - Finish paiting the fence
    - Cut the front lawn
    - Put up TV aerial
