  • Good to see you LP!

We had the same trouble with some LEDs we bought about 18 months ago - rather than them lasting 'x' number of 1000 hours they have gone pop already - not all of them, but it's pretty bad really considering how much you pay for them.

Take care and hope to see you around more...

  • Well out of the 4 LED's in the lounge we are down to one working one.

The 12 in the bedroom there are 9 working still...

Think I am going to raise a case on eBay, one or two going then fair enough but for so many so quickly... its just poor quality.

Finances are very tight at the moment as the annex build went over budget and we keep on getting bargains but they all add up.....

  • I've had three months now with the First Utility smart meter (its via phone app only sadly). Coupled with that we have had two months of our solar panels.

We had a direct debit for our electric at £57 for the year. Now obviously its summer so the usage is less, but so far:

    June - £40.50
    July - £27.48 (Panels fitted)
    August - £22.21

We have found that the main cost of electric is at tea time, which is just after the light starts to dip. Our cooker is electric so for that 30-60minutes we use 75% of the days energy. Not much we can do about that other than slow cooker etc, but its bringing the bill down at least. How it looks over the winter months though will be interesting....
