Aw hon. Fingers crossed for DD then. I guess with all the times she stopped breathing they have to check these things. My cousin had that, but he was one of the unlucky bubbas who were severely starved of oxygen at birth in one of our local hospitals. He was a very unwell baby.

From what you say your DD is quite perky, just these little niggles. Hopefully they come up with something soon for you as I think sometimes not knowing is the worst bit. Once you know, you can start doing things to help her with her breathing, and stuff like that.

Kitchen progress is a bit slow then? I found it hard choosing what we wanted. You'll get there. x
  • HI all,

Sorry i've been slacking somewhat and haven't come onto the forums in quite a long time. I will catch up on peopls diaries throughout today.

Not a huge amount has happened at my place with paying off the mortgage unfortunately. Most of the cash has been tied up in the kitchen which has been installed and all in all we are really happy with Wren and the service provided.

DD3's breathing monitor has gone off a couple times but thankfully thats down to her moving about so much in bed she is the opposite end of the matress and the sensor doesn pick her up!

My consulting job looks like its ending this month so thats 4k less a month income so will have to wait a month or two to see how things pan out :(

  • I'm almost a tad ashamed that I haven't been back on here for some many months but towards the end of the year had so many situations and complications happen that I simply didn't have the time or even MFW news to post about.

Firstly DD2 condition has continued much to the bemusement of the doctors. She is now under consulatant care at QMC and even had a week stint in just before xmas (was booked to leave x-mas eve!). She had a 4 day camera study, sleep study, MRI, etc etc and whilst we are waiting for the results they have initially said that they no longer think its epilepsy. What that leaves they are really unsure about. She still has 3-4 apneas a night which we have come to terms with as the "norm".

She has now been granted disabiltiy allowance due to the high level of care needed and on ou "to do" list is to apply the Mrs for carers allowance too.

regarding my MFW dream things dropped at the end of the year as I loaned the cash that would have made my 2011 target to a family member instead, along with that my second job has now ceased so income has reduced. However I am still confident that I can reach £19,500 in 2012 just as long as I can stop the Mrs from shopping at NEXT.

    Hope you are all okay.

    regards
    LP

  • Well just made first OP of the year for £2,000 should have some more end of the month come pay day.

What a windy night last night was, we were sat in bed watching the TV when we heard and almight bang. Our first thoughts were a tree has come down, but turns out a few roof tiles had come off and smashed on the patio.

  • Since its the start of the year I thought I would list out some of the "major" jobs I need to either do or take into serious consideration this year apart from the MFW dream.

    1) Fascia's and guttering (old and rotten, need to get some quotes in) - Hope to have done by the summer
    2) Double glazing (had all of the single glazed windows replaced last year but there are still six windows which are wooden double glazed which could do with replacing)
    3) Gate and wall/fency (Busy main road and with the children becoming more mobile and adventurous really need a good gate to stop them from going near the front road
    4) Trees and hedges cutting (we have alot of trees and hedges which have beomc overgrown, I am expecting a hefty bill for this :( )

Possible costs in the year (fingers crossed they don't need doing)
    1) Will my car survive another year? Recently had to had the engine reskimmed as the head was warped. Its starting to fall apart but hopefully I can get another year or two out of it.
    2) Engagement ring, the OH and the MIL are really pushing for it, but im resisting as long as i can! haha

LP, would it not be more beneficial to put a claim through your building insurance for storm damage.. That's what I did when it happened to me after the last storm..

Its an option, but i've never been a huge fan of claiming on insurance and I only did a few months ago on the kitchen. I'll have to check my excess to see if its £150 or £250.
