  • So the windows should have been finished Friday "at the latest", and as per usual it has rolled over to today. The Loune bay window had the wrong glass so that needs replacing and they didn't build out the roof part. They also left a hole by the new french doors which I have told them to fill.

But so far its far far better, much quieter and we noticed that our room the temperature hardly drops on the night when preivously it would go from 19deg down to 13/14deg by 10PM.

Just leaves me left to pay them I guess.....

Then its time to crack on with the OPs again whilst also lining up the next couple of jobs:
    - Gutters & fascias
    - Wall and gate for front of house

Oh I was building a lean to for my wood at the weekend when the OH noticed about 2 foot above my head a huge wasps nest. Pest control came out squirted them with some poison and told me then next 24 hours they can become violent, only trouble was I was only halfway through my lean to, so as any bloke would do I carried on.... until I heard the sound of buzzing then I ran for my life.

  • Made an OP this morning for June of £3,000.

Total for the year so far £9,800 so pretty much 50% of my target at the halfway point.

Well done on the fab OP! Your yearly target is just ..WOW.

At least the windows are in now , I guess it'll be winter when you realised just how much better they are.
I can't be bothered updating this anymore

    Hi LP

Just caught up with your diary and what a journey you've been on in this short space of time!!!

Great OP's, keep up the good work mate. I'm hoping I can start a diary soon to become MF!! Just having some home improvements done with additional borrowing but hope to start taking chunks out of it from next year......

We've also had some complications with our LO but have not had half the worry you have, glad to hear there is some light at the end of that scary tunnel....keep your chin up (but I don't need to tell you that being a positive type like myself!)

I've subscribed so expect the odd comment from me when I get chance.

    All the best

    Hi Iris,

Thanks for that. I have set our family an ambitious target to be MF in 7 years although anytime before 10 years I will see as a great achievement. The target for this year and next is capped at the 10% my lender has limited us to. Although i don't think i could squeeze much more out without afecting our standard of living.

    Hi twiddy,

Thanks for the comment, please feel free to comment away on here :)

You can make a MF thread and list all the improvements you are making first. Its effectively one great big pot anyway really. Its not exactly "wasted money".

Oh i hope your LO is on the mend too then, it is worrying when they are so little, but they are stronger than you realise!

    Hi miss,

Thanks for that, hope you are well.

Had one bit of sad news today though, one of our cats got run over this morning and was found dead by our neighbour :(

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Still at work at the moment so have to pick her up later and bury her.

The LO's are under three so don't full understand it. DS still thinks grandad simply moved house when he actually died earlier lol. I do wonder what goes on in thier little heads at times.
