That was nice of them! :rotfl:You should have told Everest that they needed to quote for your house only, not the whole street!! :rotfl:
well when he turned up in his pin stripe suit in his new BMW i did wonder what size commision he was on....
He did the old pressure sales pitch too, about Watchdog and how you have to buy from somebody you cna trust..yada yada

We went to have a look at the showroom at the weekend the new 70mm thick door. Looks great so we have ordered and paid the deposit (there goes any OPs for the next month or two though
)
Should be 8-12 weeks and then we will finally have a house which doesn't feel like a tent on a windy day :T
Ended up needing some new lintels, lead work (because the OH didn't like the current style) and having new internal sils throughout.
DS has been doing great with his potty training, since we started about two weeks ago he hasn't had an accident in 10 days.

Haven't really posted much of late as the purchase of the windows has left me feeling a little deflated. That 13-14k would have meant I would have reached my OP limit of 19.5k with half the year to go, but for the next 8-12 weeks (until fitting) it seems and saving will go towards the windows. So I feel like I have fallen of the tracks somewhat....
Well the OH and I have some some ebaying and our first weekend raised £150, going to do some more this weekend as we still have plenty of "bits and bobs" to sell.
I cleared out my parents attic the other day and have been putting together all my old Lego (not seling it but keeping it for me DS). Brought back plenty of memories.

ooohhhh Lego, that brings back memories for me too. When I was a child one of my friends was half Danish (still is and is still my best friend) - he had loads of lego and we used to have such a great time with it.
Good to see you posting again and good luck with the saves for the windows....Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

Morning LP! :j
Don't get deflated mate.. You have not fallen off the tracks at all.. Most people would have taken a loan or paid on CC for windows & doors..You have saved the money for it...
You will save in the long term on heating & insulation bills.. You have made your house a safer place, less risk of burglary, therefore lower building & contents insurance.. You also have increased the value of your home.. The fact that you have no cold air coming through the house lowers the risk of all of you getting sick, therefore lowering healthcare costs...
It might have been a big purchase, however the outcome is invaluable....;)
Knowing you, I am sure you will beat your target anyway..:rotfl:
Well done on the Ebay sales, keep going.. Hope you are having fun with the Lego...

Thanks you two. We have been really busy at work past week or two also, so not had the free time in the day to log on. I must try to make more of an effort.
The Lego sure brings back memories, it is suprising how much stuff my old dear kept from when I was a wee lad. DS is going to have a field day when he is old enough.
The windows apparently should be ready within 4-5 weeks and should take a week to install! that is sooner than i thought (now just to take down all the blinds I only just put up!!)
Oh also a quick update on DD2, she has been home and had no issues at all like before, but simply cannot shake colds or thrush off. So having tests for low immune system (had thrush for 3 weeks now poor thing). Still she is a happy little thing always smiling (unless DD1 pokes her in the eye like she does daily)

You sound a bit down. Life never seems to go quite how we predict, buti think the windows tangent is an important one. You will appreciate your spends in the winter.
Glad you are enjoying the lego. My two drive me scatty with it. It is so expensive and so many small pieces. You will no doubt add to your own childhood collection as your lad gets bigger.
Sorry to hear your youngest is still a but vulnerable to bugs. They do grow out of it a bit don't they as they get bigger. Have you seen a dr about it? Your wife and daughter are probably passing the thrush back and forth between each other when feeding.0 -

No i am sure you are right, the windows was the right choice. Just would have been nice to hit my yearly total early.
Yes been to the Dr's a few times, waiting on bloods at the minute. They have been passing it back and forth but both have been on anti-biotics for 3 weeks so it should have cleared. They are talking about an IV of anti-biotics to flush it out.
Had DS b'day present delivered today (some big outdoor play set from Tesco 1/3 off). OH has just decided to tell me the only negative of the reviews was the construction time! It takes hours! lovely!
Need to organise another car boot for the remaining items from our last one. Think we could easily make another 500+ quid from bits we have lying around unused

Hope your DD is better soon, maybe they just haven't been on the right type/strength of antibiotics.
Good luck with the car boot sale, they're a great way to get rid of stuff. We need to do one but don't think we have enough to warrant taking at the moment but it oftens surprises you what actually sells. I believe children's stuff sells very well.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0
