Tesco Mobile tariff looks reasonable, prices vary from tariff to tariff to suit your needs and they seem reasonably priced.
Connection is through O2 unlike easymobliles connection to T Mobile so anyone thinking about porting to any new service provider should check that the signal is reliable in the area that they use their mobile and that their mobile is unlocked and able to work through another network.
Anyone like myself who bought an easymobile gold number should port their number ASAP to another network to retain their number. I'm disappointed that easymobile has folded makes me wonder how stable the rest of the "easy" companies are, such a pity that the best of the pay as you go mobile phone network has gone to the wall.
  • Looks like some parking charges can be paid online:
    eg York and Colchester:

I think you can also pay by text for [legal] music mps at wippit:

Any more charity links would be good too. :)

I seem to be one of the few who actually used easymobile as my main phone, calls to other easymobile users 1p a min texts 5p no wonder my credit seems to last for ages. I'm sad to see these go as for once the cost of using a mobile was affordable and not tied down :(

Now I gotta look around for a deal that can compare even slightly :(

Ohh and I always got great coverage - better then I did on Orange!

Not yet seen the Tesco Mobile tariffs myself, whats most others opinion on the best network to move over too. Even Fresh are considerably dearer than EasyMobile, but it may be worth moving whilst pondering another move. By comparison O2's pricing is silly, 40p for cross network calls, perrrlllease, at least !!!!!! Turpin wore a mask.
I've heard Easy has only closed due to TDC (?), the telecoms expert, pulling out of the UK, not Easy changing course or otherwise in trouble. Stavros has even been on and said this is not the end of it, he plans to broker a deal with another network provider to ressurect EasyMobile at a later date.
  • I chose a personal number from easymobile (it's a conncoction of my date of birth so I acually remember my mobile number!!!). I therefore want to "port" my number, which easymobile say they will help you do. I have never done this before and am not really sure of the process. Do I just buy or obtain a sim pack with another mobile payg provider and get a code from easymobile and pass this on to the new provider?

I don't really want to go with a provider who charges for low usage as I really only use my phone for texts, think I might go back to orange as I was always happy with them, or Virgin. Any thoughts???
    Irony.

    The opposite of wrinkly.
  • I actually purchased my phone from easymobile. Does anyone know if it is locked to them and if so how will I get it unlocked so that I can transfer to another company.

Blast! - We used (or rather, had the facility of) EasyMobile purely for the non-rip-off roaming charges in case of a vehicle breakdown when we are travelling through mainland Europe..... I think it cost 20p/min to receive a call?

75p/month no use charge for that was a bargain...............Does anyone know another provider without a hefty monthly charge whose roaming costs are reasonable? .... Please

If you click the "i wish to port" box, you will receive (almost immediately) an email with your PAC code - this you need to give to your new mobile provider within 28 days. e.g. if transferring to Fresh, you will receive email saying

As you have chosen to transfer your easyMobile.com telephone number to Fresh Mobile, please follow the simple steps below once your Fresh Mobile SIM Card has arrived:
    1. Call Fresh Customer Services on 0870 111 5000 and advise them you want to transfer your existing mobile number.
    2. Give them your PAC number, which is ZZZ11111 for mobile number 079629999999.
    3. Once you have spoken to Customer Services your number will be transferred within two weeks. You will be sent a text message advising you of the day your transfer will take place.
    4. Continue using your existing phone until it stops working on the day your transfer is due to take place.
    5. When your existing network stops working turn off the phone, remove the easyMobile.com SIM card and replace it with your new Fresh Mobile SIM card. Then turn on your phone and the Fresh Mobile logo will appear.
    6. You can now use your phone as normal.

Easy say they'll endeavour to unlock your phone (see https://www.easymobile.com/selfcare/emcontent/cust_services/Additional_Info.pdf), but there are 'unlock' forums on this site that might help you. It depends on what phone you have.

I've just been on the site and it says if you take up the Fresh sim deal, your account will be closed immediately.

If they close it immediately, how can I make and receive calls until the Fresh sim gets here and what will happen with my credit on the account
