Easymobile are withdrawing from the UK market (merged)

I guess I'll be using the remainder of my credit to tell people what my new (old as going back to T-Mobile) number is....
Result that I got my Quidco money in time.....Reassuringly expensive0 -
Big loss for me. Easymobile don't charge for small amounts of gprs data, for some reason it's too small to register. This was ideal for tomtom traffic, the data it used was too small for it to charge, so I always got usage for free. I never used them for internet surfing as I had a dual sim with t-mobile, £1 a day capped gprs, but t-mobile does register the tomtom traffic usage, & I only use the unlimited gprs at weekends.
Anyone know another provider who doesn't charge for small amounts of gprs data?Next year we'll be millionaires!0 -
When you log into your account, they give you the option of transferring to a new sim card from FreshMobile (carphone Warehouse) - They will send you out a sim card for free with £10 credit, + an extra £5 credit if/when you first top up. -
Ive done it and my card will be here within 5 days
As I have only about £4 credit left on both my Mum & Dads cards, this is a bargain -
You can port over your easymobile number or be allocated a new one,
I would suggest moving over quickly if you want to whilst this generous offer is around.
Note fresh charge 60p per month if you use less than £1.50 but as Easy charge 75p per mth (less than £5 usage every 3 months), its just as good

I have to agree with your sentiments, I also enjoyed the free data quirk, but alas...what now??0 -
I think the Easy Mobile strategy was actually quite laudable. Despite the fact that I had oodles of free credit and cash back from Quidco too, it probably represents less cost to Easy Mobile than a standard advertising campaign would have done and I'd rather they gave me the money than some grossly overpriced advertising company. Getting enough subscribers to achieve a hold on the market was the critical factor and the lack of subscribers is cited as the reason for the pull out. I, like many people, only really joined for the freebies, but I still might have stayed with them as their charges and service were OK.
Incidentally, I too would welcome suggestions as to how I can make good use of my remaining free credit. Any ideas?0 -

The Fresh deal looks worthwhile but still need some way to use up the promo credit. Will go to Fresh for the promo and then look to move elsewhere.
Seems unfair that they don't refund the Easy promo credit when they are breaking the terms of their service by teminating services. Leaving 1 month notice is a bit tight given that some people on here seem to have large amounts of credit. I have a fair amount but nothing likeas much as others are reporting.
I'd be interested to hear a comment from Mr Carisma himself Stelios on how he has gone about selling out on customers. Easy can't surely have only had 4 weeks notice themselves that this was going to happen.
Their battle with Orange for the advertising colour was a huge waste of time!
Surely they should not be allowed renage on the quidco cashback. That is a referral programme to which they had signed up. Their company has not gone bust they have just chosen not to continue to make new arrangemeents with another supplier to do business in UK.
Any comments Martin?Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -
I am sure that there will be many unhappy with the failure of easymobile But I believe that they have been more than fair (to most) with their closure
1, Option to change to Fresh (with £10 free credit)
2. Free unlock codes to those who purchased a mobile from them
3. 1 months notice to use up your credit - (and if not used, they will refund it to your account).
I realise that a few MSE'rs may lose a few pounds but many of us are still benefitting from the free credit originally offered, so have lost nothing. Those that 'will' lose still have some time to use up their credit - It could have been worse, you could have spent the money on a farepak hamper !" He who knows does not speak.
