  • Didnt realise that when you recieve the fresh simcard via easy mobile with £10 on you actually have to top it up by the minimum of £5 to activate it to dial out.
Spent 10 mins last night going through fresh mobile debit card top up procedure only to get message saying system down.If this is going to occur for a while and you have to wait say 15 mins to speak to a customer service person then at 0870 rates this is soon going to mount up.
On first impressions not happy with fresh mobile.

    fresh terms below off website

9.4 Top-Ups may be purchased no more than twice in any 24 hour period and only in amounts of £5, £10 or £20. You will be required to purchase a minimum amount of Top-Up when you purchase the Product. Your account is subject to a maximum credit of £200 at any time.
  • I used my Fresh SIM card straight way to send text messages without needing to register or top-up:)
  • I have two numbers to switch from EasyMobile to TMobile, the first one switched last Monday OK. I requested the second one to switch next Monday. I chose TMobile because they offer international roaming. TMobile took one week in both cases to switch number. They warned me that I could lose service for up to one day but in first case I did not notice any loss of service. I had one phone loaded with old Sim and another with new Sim.

Last night I successfull used 84858 to donate £24 to charity and get rid of my balance. I had auto top up with EasyMobile (something I will miss) so I guess this worked for me but may not for people who do not have auto top up.
  • well fresh must be sending out two types of simcard out then because both me and three friends have had problems topping up and activating them.

There's an interesting line on the CPW/fresh website that reads " Pay As You Go SIM cards purchased online or through our telesales division come with inclusive airtime credit. The airtime credit will be applied to your account automatically on the 8th day after purchase. This is to comply with distance selling regulations.
Please allow 8 days for credit to show on your account, if after you have not received the credit then please contact our dedicated internet sales team on 0808 100 9250. Please note, if you decide to return this product the airtime credit is non refundable. "

so 2 things to note 1: May not apply the £10 until 8 days after sim sent out 2: there is a freephone number to sort things out, also try 0800 0490800 (also gives free balance enquiries) Best number to get through on (for free) is the 0808 100 9250 and let them divert you to fresh customer services.

Yes, but I could only get "Customer Services are not currently available" on 0800 0490800, but a 'Very Nice Man' on 0800 0491008 was willing to transfer me to the Customer Service queue when I said I didn't mind waiting :j
  • Iv'e not had a problem about obtaining a balance. The automated system tells me i have a balance of £10 but i'm unable to make a call or send a text without topping up at least £5. I can recieve calls so the simcard must be part activated. Its the trying to top up my account bit thats doing my head in. Iv'e either had system down or bank card not recognised when i know 100% there is nothing wrong with the bank card.
Iv'e got to the stage now were i'm not prepared to waste anymore money ringing up 0870 numbers for 7 to 10 minutes on the trot and not achieve anything.

EM deactivated my auto top up. They told me my phone would just go dead when my credit of £1 was used up. But it didn't and I owe them 40p. Text for balance wasn't working so I had no idea. I don't mind paying it but their website payment top up facility is down. They want me to phone their 0845 no for ?? mins to pay 40p. If I don't, do they have my card details from auto top up and will they hit me with 'admin' charges or some such, auto deducted from my card?

It's their fault for allowing a negative balance to happen. But I do owe them the princely sum of 40p. What to do good people? I am off to Tesco mob this evening taking my EM number.
Be careful though when running down your EM balance!

I've tried all day to get the 'transfer me to FreshMobile' web page application form to accept data, but it won't - so that seems to be another bit of the website (and also of the new 'Shimmersomething' website which they've created) which is down.
However if I wanted to 'close my EM account and port out', that section seemingly was working.
Could it be that FreshMobile have 'had enough' already ?

Are you using Firefox 2.0? I had to use IE to get the submit button on that page to work.
