You MUST let the bank know you have only accepted this money as part payment, but you are continuing the claim for the full amount.

    Ok will do.

But they did also say in the letter do not reply to this letter if you want to proceed further contact the ombudsman. Or something like that.

Ignore them, they are trying to sidetrack you. Remember, you are the one calling the shots.
  • Hi again everyone.

I posted last week to say that SC&M solicitors had written with an offer to settle in full. Their letter was dated 16th Jan, I received it 17th Jan. I faxed and posted back my acceptance letter on the same day but haven't received my money yet. Does anyone know how long it takes LLoyds TSB to pay up after making an offer?

    Hi all

I recently put a claim in for £3000. I wrote the first letter like the template on this site and Lloydstsb sent me out the standard default letter telling me to go away.

I wrote to them again saying I was not happy with this and that i am taking tehm to court. I wrote this on the 4th of Jan.

Yesterday I recieved a letter saying they would not Pay me my full money back but at a good will gesture they have paid £700 into my account!

This is very nice of them as I was not expecting that. But I am still going to court to claim the full £3000.

I am quite happy now because they have given me the ammunition to move onto the small claims court stage. AND they have given me the money up front to pay for the fee.

I will keep everyone up to date with whats going on.

lol, then me and you are in exactly the same boat! Good luck!

  • Hi All,

I posted my SAR's a fortnight ago - 2 to Lloyds TSB, 1 to Barclaycard and 1 to Capital One. I am surprised not to have heard anything from any of them to date. I'm not stressing just yet, as I know it's a 40 day max thing, but just wondered how long it had taken other people to get their details from these companies?

    Cheers,
    Tina

I think it took me about 3 weeks to get mine from Lloyds.

Loads more people are claiming now though so I expect they are overloaded with requests.

Be prepared to wait the full 40 days!

After a £30 charge before Xmas I decided that paying a tenner would be worth it just to get my £30 back.

I've kept my account in pretty good shape for quite a while so didn't think I'd have much to claim back. Maybe £50 at most. I received my statements the day before yesterday.

    Boy was I surprised.

Since Nov 2001 I found 13 charges in total coming to £188!! with interest it's around £250!!

As many YB customers will know, when they charge you - you don't get a letter telling you this like most banks...it just goes in a box on your statement.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you think you may have been charged even just a few times...it's worth pursuing them for YOUR cash. You might even be pleasantly surprised. Alot of the charges I didn't even realise they'd taken!!!!

I sent my claim to them today. Someone I work with got £300 off them before Xmas so don't lose heart. Just fight the good fight.

Thanks for all the advice chaps.
