:j Have jus got in to find a letter from TSB's solicitors offering me full amount plus court costs £3500+. The letter also asks me to call in and see my bank manager to discuss my account and how they can help keep my costs down.

I have another account with them should I see the manager an ask that h refund the charges on that or just go through the same procedure?

    Hi All
we received an instruction from the court that we were to try to come to an arrangement with SCAM to settle before 17th August. We wrote to SCAM to say that although we were claiming £4,603, we would be willing to settle for £4,000 and "looked forward to hearing from them." On Tuesday I received a letter back from SCAM, it was the same letter they originally sent me in early May asking for the account details, how we had arrived at the figure etc (the standard letter they send to everyone!!). This was my reply:

Thank you for your letter dated 26th June 2007 which we received today. We are saddened that you have chosen to ignore all the information which we have previously provided and have in fact sent us a copy of a letter which you had previously sent on 8th May (the only difference in the letters is the amount claimed as you have chosen to subtract £120 which have been added on for court costs). The information requested in this letter has been provided to Lloyds TSB on numerous occasions and was faxed to yourselves on 10th May (your staff did acknowledge receipt). Not only does this show that you have neither read the instructions given by Judge XXXXXXXX of XXXXXX County Court that we were to come to a settlement agreement nor have you chosen to look at the information we have already provided you with. We can only assume that you have decided to treat both our efforts to settle this dispute and those efforts of the Court with complete contempt.
    <O:p
In our letter to you dated 13th June, we did offer to accept a reduced settlement of £4,000 by way of compromise and in line with Judge xxxxxxxx request that we try to reach a settlement. However, the continued stalling tactics being used by Lloyds TSB and Sechiari, Clark and Mitchell have now angered us to the point that we would now wish to pursue our full claim for £4,603.92. We would ask that you treat this letter seriously and do not send us a reply in the form of a “standard letter.”<O:p
    <O:p
We would appreciate your urgent attention to this matter and should you require any further information or wish to contact us, please do not hesitate to use the telephone number above.<O:p></O:p>

Do you think I've gone a bit overboard???

  • I have been fighting Lloyds since April and on checking my account on line this week, Lloyds have put a £750.00 goodwill gesture payment into my accont with any communication. A couple of days later I got a letter stating although they were not admitting liability they were offering me £750 in full and final settlement and if I am not happy with this, I was offered the FO.

My original claim is for £2300, I am not happy with this and need advice as to what to do next?

    Please help.
  • Success with HSBC

HSBC filed defence last month and yesterday i received a letter saying they are now offering me £3500 and will pay within 14 days. Original request was for £5,500 including interest and court fees but am happy with offer, so going to take money and run!!!! Not sure i want to go through next stages sounds far to complicated. Court have said it is now being transfered to local court so how do i now stop the court process once money has been transfered to my account
  • Hi all,

I've sent off my second letter, threatening to take Lloyds to court, as per Martin's downloadable letter, and nothing. It's just gone over the 14 day limit that I set them. Does this mean I've won my charges back?

Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

Nope, it means they've treated you with the contempt we've all come to expect and experienced....it's time to take court action !!
