The letter was delivered by hand to the bank on the last Bank Holiday. As yet there has not even been an acknowledgement of receipt of the letter.

We are off on a shoe-string holiday tomorrow for a week.

If we hear nothing by the time we get back I'm thinking to just send the same letter and attachments again.

    Anyone else had this happen?
I'm stressed enough over this - please don't add to it.

Crikey! I just checked my account balance online and thought.. The remainder of my wages I transfered to my new account hasn't been transfered yet! What's taking them?! I thought this was odd because I had a statement in the post the other day saying it had. Then I actually checked the statement and noticed:
    06Jun07 DEP GOODWILL REFUND 750.00

    WOOT!

Now to court for the rest! Well at the end of the month anyway.

Yes I had sent them a second letter:
    Dear Sir or Madam,

    Re. Account number: *********
    Ref: ** - ****

I refer to default charges applied to my account amounting to of £**** which I have requested you pay back.
I wrote to you on 26th March 2007, making the original request for a payment in settlement of my claim. As I have not received a satisfactory response, I am writing to inform you I intend to claim the full amount claimed together with interest up to the date of judgment and court fees in the proceedings through the county court.
This is based on the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations, as I believe these default charges are unfair and not proportionate to your costs, and therefore the ***** County Court will rule in my favour.
I have attached a full schedule of the charges and interest with this document.

    Without prejudice
The charges and interest I have claimed above total £ £****. However, if you are prepared to pay to me £**** within 14 days of the date of this letter (and, for such purpose, time shall be of the essence), I am prepared to accept this lower figure in full and final settlement of my claim and interest.

I look forward for a full response to this letter within 14 days, otherwise I will commence court proceedings to reclaim the full amount.

    Yours faithfully,

No didn't get a letter telling me about the goodwill gesture, just noticed it when I checked my account today.

    Hi
Can I ask please has anyone gone as far as the filing at court stage without actually receiving any response from the bank charges team?.
I am at the end of my 7th week now and the only letter I have has been from my local branch to let me know they have forwarded on my previous letters to the relavent dept and would put the second letter where I asked for a smaller sum to be paid back in 14 days on file until a decision was made and I should receive a response by the end of May.
Up till now heard ziltch and have now sent them another letter to tell them they are about to breach the complaints time scale and I'll be filing for court at the 8 week date.
Also I'll be writing to the board about their policy for Treating Customers Fairly which the banks work by and how Lloyds TSB are letting their customers down.
Don't know if it will get me anywhere but I'll try anyway
  • I am awaiting the next stage to see if lloyds are going to go the full length to court. If the worse happens and i loose what does it cost me? I have gone throught MCOL and paid my fee.

    Look forward to a reply.
