Standard response from Lloyds, write back and say you accept as part payment and without prejudice but will be proceeding to court for the remainder of your claim.
  • I bank with LloydsTSB and my branch is in Scotland although I am English haven't lived in Scotland since 2000. I have asked them to move it but they say there's no point. Does it mean that if I try to reclaim my bank charges I come under Scottish law, does anyone know?

I would imagine that since your local court would be an English one, you would come under English law - not sure though!!

I have chickened out and sent the compaint form and list of charges to the FO.If it had gone to court and they had turned up it would have been a mess and I'm not strong enough to fight them on my own ,so I thought this was the best way round it.I'll let you know how I get on.

    Type: FEE
Description: ACCOUNT CHARGE - Amounts of around £4-£10

    Type: CHG
Description: O/DRAFT INTEREST - Amounts of around £0.10-£1.79

    Type: CHG
Description: O/DRAFT EXCESS FEE - Amounts of around £20-£50

    Type: CHG
Description: O/DRAFT USAGE FEE - Amounts of around £25

I claimed (and it was settled) for all of the above except interest and account charge which they are entitled to charge you for. The others are just reworded fees. Lloyds TSB grouped chrages and called them a usage fee if I remember back.

i am claiming for just over 4000 in charges, after 3 letters lloyds has sent me a letter saying its not gonna pay any more but is going to credit my account with 750 in 10 days time . its not an offer its telling me its giving me the money. without sounding greedy its nowhere near 4000, should i continue with the claim, or leave it at this, also if i do take it further should i wait until they have put the money in first. help...

hi i spoke to a lady from andover last week to see how my claim was going and basically i got the impression that every one will get a good will jesture and then if u feel thats not enough , she then said you should contact the fo didnt mention court proceedings like , she said my claim was going to be looked at soon but id rang 3 weeks b4 that and a guy called howard said my case would be looked at on the 30th of may and if i hadnt heard any thing by this friday call again , so it looks like u need to either go to the fo or start court proceedings cheers jill
  • Some more good news to spur you on.

I got judgement against LTSB on the 18th May and they paid up with no fuss by the 1st June. All together took six months start to finish, I simply followed Martins step by step guide and got paid out £650 for practically no effort.

Dont give up guys, its worth the fight.

    Good Luck
