Use the Moneyclaim website in England and Wales (there's also the Northern Ireland Courts online) which can be used for starting most county court money claims, just go there and fill in the form. There’s a fee of between £30 and £120, depending on the size of your claim, which can be paid by a credit or debit card; though it’s refunded if, and hopefully when, you win. If you don’t have plastic to pay on, get the paperwork to start the claim from your local county court and pay there; it’s the same price. This may be waived if you’re on benefits.

    its all here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1141050760,24632,

if you live in scotland or northern ireland you need to read it more thruoughly

just checked account and £750 'goodwill gesture' has gone in this afternoon (wasnt there this morning) we've decided to drop mcol as our claim inc court fees and interest was only just over £800.
For all the people who've recieved the letter 'we are in the right but as a goodwill gesture we will give you £750' the time frame went like this:
recieved letter 4th may saying £750 would be in account in 10 days however letter was dated 20th april so 10 days would mean money should be in account by 30th april (does NOT say 10 WORKING days). money recieved afternoon 5th may so for us 15 days from date of letter
Feel like a bit of a cheat because our claim was so close to their general £750offer that it makes sense to accept but its still money that we got back and isnt lining some fat cats pocket and to us its alot of money. dont anyone give up whether claiming big or small THEY MUST PAY!
feel a bit sad (strange i know) that i will no longer be spending every spare minute on this thread but hopefully will see people around the site and thanks to all for the useful threads not forgetting martin and the team. bye!

I have just received the statatory letter that is sent out offering me the £750 was in a bit of quandry as what to do next, accept the offer or try and go for what I orginally asked for of just over £3000. Seeing that the £750 is what they seem to offer everyone my husband has told me to go the whole way. Thanks to everyone who has told their story it for me has certainly been an inspiration and given me the courage to take this further and claim what is rightly mine.

Hi, like many others it seems, my OH has also today received the offer of £750, it doesn't say as " goodwill gesture" but as full and final settlement.
Does anyone know if it will be ok to just let this money go into the account but to write to say he accepts it as partial settlement and will be claiming through courts, then do the mcol for full amount + interest less £750?? It woudl actually come in v handy to have the £750 this month but not the end of the world if have to hang on for full amount ( whch actuallly isn' t that much more!) Also, if he does get the £750 will it be taken off him again once he does the claim for full amaount?
    Thanks for any advice! Em.x

hiya i got the same thing my claim was for £1250 so i wrote to say i accept the £750 as partical payment and i am claiming for the rest they put the £750 in my bank and i've spent it so i don't think they take it back off you and that was quite a while back.
