Has anyone had sucess with LloydsTSB. I have just sent off for a statement of my charges under the data protection act. I would like to know who has managed to get their charges back from Lloyds?

    Hi Jak,
I just had a letter charges back from Lloyds - taking the full 40 days. It's an interesting cover letter however, pointing out that they couldn't retrieve statements before Sept 2001 because these are 'archived' and would I return the letter if I wanted more statements prior to this date. Obviously, I'm sending the letter back, as suggested, and they also point out that this may take a further 40 days!

Still, the charges are listed simply - just charges, not statements. However, I'd already done most of it and have written to Lloyds requesting approx three & a half thousand pounds. The whole point of making a SAR was to get charges from March - Sept 2001.

If you have sent your request to anywhere other than the Copy Statements Unit in B'ham, it will be forwarded.

Also, if anyone knows whether I have any comeback in terms of Lloyds NOT delivering on the SAR, I'd be delighted to hear from them.

    Keep in touch,

    VM

Hi , new to the forum , I need some advice , please . I am going to list the events as they have hppened so far . ( My wife and I have 2 Lloyds tsb accounts ) . And we live in SCOTLAND .
    1. I sent off for list of all charges over past 6 years ( should that have been 5 ) .
    2. They returned the documentation ( amounting to approx 4.5k !).
    3. They asked me if I wanted to proceed with a claim for reimbursment (40 days blah blah ) .
    4. replied yes , but never done a calculation .
    5. recieved computer generated letter saying no deal on the claim etc etc .
    6. i now have all the details using Martins calculator and have them listed on both accounts ( with 8% interest ).
    7.I have drafted a letter ( template ) saying that I want the cash back but will accept £ 3587 ( 25% less ) for a settlement in 14 days .
8.i have the letter ready but havent posted yet as the Scotland £ 750 small claims deal is bothering me ..ANY HELP PLEASE ..I NEED POSITIVE DIRECTION TA !
  • Sorry to bug you but i thought i noted at the bottom that you reclaimed charges against studio catalogue. Am I correct?
It's just that I have an outstanding balance with Ace which is the same company and over the years they have charged me a small fortune with late payment fees.
Is it the same procedure as the banks?

  • Is there anyone out there who can help. I am in the process of recliming my bank charges back, off the YB. I have added up all the charges, over £2k, but can you reclaim the charges for being overdrawn, which they charge you on a daily basis ( £8 a day for the YB ).

    Many Thanks
  • Hi,

This is my first post so please be gentle if this is a silly question!

I'm currently going through the process and have reached the stage where I need to issue court action. I understand that I've got to do this via MCOL and I've taken a quick look at their process.

    The factor that I'm a little unsure about is this;

I'm claiming for Bank charges AND credit card penalties, both from Lloyds TSB. So far I've treated each claim separately and written to them as individual companies. When entering the court process do I have to make two claims (therefore 2 court fees etc etc) or can i just claim against Lloyds for the whole lot?

Any advice would be greatly received,

    Thanks

    Linz

The post has just arrived and I have the standard fob off letter from them as most people have received....

The 14 days are up today, so I'd already printed off the letter to threaten court and just off to the post office now to send it.

    wish me luck......:A

  • Hello everyone,
I've received the standard reply from Lloyds TSB after asking for my charges back. I'm taking the next step but want to know if everytime I write to them I'm supposed to keep adding up the accrued interest? Obviously the longer they take the more interest I am owed... or should I stick with the original amount that I asked to be refunded?

    many thanks

You arent actually entitled to interest until you reach the court stage, it is awarded then by the court. For now you can only ask for it. If they make an offer of the full amount less interest before court you must accept it. You might get lucky and get the interest as well so I suppose it is worth adjusting this each time you write but dont count on it.
  • of course. Thanks for that. Like Martin suggests I'm just using it as a bargaining tool anyway so will add it up till they offer me the charges back.
