Unlike my fab woolwich charges letter, neatly detailed and counted up at the end, was a bit dismayed to get home and find 70 envelopes containing statements from Lloyds.

they are all over the place, months and half a year missing, they only go back to 2002, there are LOADS of duplicates - am not happy, anyone got any advice as to what I should do (apart from get to work with a highlighter.....)

    Advice appreciated. Jo x

Chiquemoney, Stevoman and everyone else who rec'd that letter.

I rec'd exactley the same, continued with the process and then started the moneyclaim online action and Lloyds Defended it, i then filled in Allocation Questionnaire Form and was only thinking a few days ago when will i get a response.

Well, i got one, offering me the FULL AMOUNT i claimed for PLUS INTEREST and PLUS COURT FEE BACK!! totalling 1170.56

Feel such a great sense of achievement, taken me since Nov 06 but was well worth it. Had another acc with First Direct and took early settlement with them for just over 500 so all in all, a very good week

Everyone just starting out or starting to lack enthusiasm, keep at it!!!!

    YAY!!!!!!!!

Has anyone had sucess with LloydsTSB. I have just sent off for a statement of my charges under the data protection act. I would like to know who has managed to get their charges back from Lloyds?

IHAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET MY BANK CHARGES BACK FROM LLOYDS/TSB AND I HAVE NOW PROCEEDED TO COURT ACTION. I AM CLAIMING £2512 NOW AS THEY HAD PAID A PART SETTLEMENT OF £685. I RECEIVED A LETTER TODAY TO SAY THAT THEY HAVE APPOINTED A SOLICITOR AND ARE INTENDING TO DEFEND THE CLAIM. JUST WORRIED THAT IT WILL NOT BE IN TIME FOR THE CHARGE IF THE OFT INTERVENES. MUST SAY THEY ARE REALLY SLOW AT REPLYING SO DONT GIVE THEM ANY ALLOWANCES. THE LAST LETTER I SENT THEY REPLIED OVER A MONTH LATER AND I HAD ALREADY FILED THE COURT PAPERS. THE LETTER DID SAY THEY WERE NOT GOING TO BE PAYING ME THE CHARGES BACK !! SO IM STILL GOING FOR IT :T

The missing statements may still arrive if they are within the 40 days. Meantime take a note of those missing and let the bank know and start making a spreadsheet of the charges on the statements you have received.

Just had this reply from LloydsTSB

'I am just writing to let you know that we have recieved your complaint - and to say how sorry I am to learn that you feel you have cause to complain.

Please get in touch if we've misunderstood your concerns or if you have some more information you want us to have. If we don't hear back from you in the next couple of days, we will carry on with our investigation using the information you've already provided.

We expect our enquiries to be completed within the next two weeks but will try to get our response to you sooner if we can. If there's a delay, we will let you know why and we'll give you an idea of when you can expect to recieve a full response to your complaint. I hope we can sort things out for you.'

The letter attached an enclosure called 'how to voice your concerns and stating that it could take up to 8 weeks and giving ombudsmans details.

As I gave then two weeks to respond to my claim and this letter has come at the end of this period, are they stalling?

I think I'm going to acknowledge their letter giving a further 7 days only to repay charges before court action. I think I am probably in a good position to push it as we do have a healthy balance at the moment.

Claiming from MBNA as well, they haven't even acknowledged recipt of the letter and claimed they had lost request for statement of charges until I sent them a letter of complaint with a copy to ombudsman (statement sent with the found cheques returned unbanked..., third letter to them on friday...

~I have followed the tips from Martins site and have got to the stage where i have taken my claim court .Yorkshire bank is defending the claim however i received a letter from them today stating that their position regarding the reimbursment of fees remains the same---they wont pay them and they redirect me to the ombudsman i have no idea what this means
are they just posturing they tell me they are aware of court claim and further correspondence will be via the banks legal department has anyone else had this situation with this bank?

If you've filed your claim, you need to wait until you hear from the court. Don't worry about the bank stating their position. Ignore their request to go to the Ombudsman, it's probably in response to your Letter Before Action.

You are now joining the scores of people who have taken their bank to court over unlawful charges. You should be a step closer to getting your money back!

  • Hi,

I just gone through our statement and preparing my first letter to Lloyds. However, I am a bit scared as we have a bank loan as well with Lloyds TSB. I am actually, scared that they might force us to close our account (Lloyds have confiscated our chq books, debit card leaving our account with a very basic bank facilities - a cash card.)

Can they demand us to pay off the whole personal loan?

    Thank you, please advise:confused:
