As they have offered £102.50 more than your claim it looks to me that they have paid the interest and court fees?
Sorry Edinburghlass I should have made it clearer we were asking for £580 (only going back 4 years) plus £131.80 interest plus £80 court fees - Total £791.80
They have offered £682.50 (which i am assuming goes back the full 6 years) which is £109.30 less than what we were originally claiming.
Is it worth carrying on for that amount?0 -
I submitted a claim at the beginning of December 2006 sent off the cheque - they said they hadnt received it then miraculously cashed it the next day, got the usual letter we have 40 days blah blah then didnt receive statements when threatening them with Court proceedings i got them i then sent them a letter saying they owed me nearly 4k to which i have received the standard letter that they were not in breach of terms and conditions and that i should manage my account, ive done all the paper work for Court, does anyone have a success story for these cowboys?? im gonna take them to the cleaners for me and all their other poor customers - needs reassurance first!!!0

Hi adsmum,
I would put in writing that you want all statements and give a time frame such as seven more days only and then take court action. I also think it is easier to deal with same dept each time, but if you want another dept you could try: Advice and Quality Unit-- Charges section, Third Floor, Brunswick Point,Wade lane, Leeds, LS2 8NQ, the address I was told to direct my 'complaint ' to in the first letter of reply the Yorkshire Bank sent me.
I am about to continue with my court action today as they now have had two weeks and noone has sent me any money just an empty promise that they are looking into it!!
Put everything in writing as a telephone call is not legal tender.
iv had my letter today sayign that im going to receive no bank charges back from YB in Leeds so im today sending off my court papers they have had nearly 4 months to sort it out they fob you off onthe phone they owe me nearly 4 grand so iv spoken to my employers (solicitors) and they have told me to go all the way0 -
Yorkshire bank are stalling until the new ombudsmen decision in April it looks like no one is having luck with them they are a bad lot at Merrion Way/Wade Lane, dont back down they think that if they say go ahead issue take us to Court trust me there will be a lot of people at Leeds COunty Court asking for their money back they will back down! what makes them so different from other banks apart from being w**kers0

Hi
I also struggled to get my statements from YB - told me it was because of a change in computer system! I've just totalled up charges to £950 - robbing gits! I'm looking forward to this - may issue a complint to the information commissioner as they went over the 40 day deadline by about 10 days!
thanks

Hi all, are LloydsTSB using a different tactics with reclaim the bank charges?
My wife went down today with the first draft letter and £10 asking for her statements for the past 6 years. The very helpful lady on customer services told her that she didn't need to send off the letter or pay the £10 charges, all she had to do is send a letter of authorization for them to go into her account to check for the charges. They would then calculate any charges and pay her for them.
I'm not sure whether I'm being cynical or not but they could pluck any figure they want.
Anybody done it this way??0 -
Hi Everyone,
I've got a quick question. Up until late last year October/November we were getting hammered with bank charges by Lloyds/TSB. On average we were looking at £60-£100 a month and on our worst month last year we had over £250 in charges, due to erratic pay dates and the inflexibility of Direct Debits. However October last year we were called into the bank where upon we were offered a Budget Account with an overdraft facility to cover Direct Debit payments and a car loan (previously we'd been refused a car loan and had to hit a sub-prime lender and when I'd enquired about a budget account six years ago I was told they didn't do them any more).
Anyway I'm not worried about our overdraft facility...we've got less than £300 owing at the worst, however if we start proceedings to reclaim charges can they play silly games over the loan?
If they suddenly decided they wanted the full amount back we'd be sunk,
Many thanks,
Phil0 -
Anyone else have had zero replies from Lloyds TSB after the 3rd letter.
Do I carry on with the court claim and just state I had zero replies from the claimant.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

It certainly is worth carrying on as you have paid out the £80 court fees. You need to go back to them and say sorrry but no thanks as they are too late and you have already started court proceedings and want the interest now along with the court fees. You do need to let the court know if you actually receive the money.0
