Hello all... I am overweight. There - I've admitted it publicly. To strangers, too! I have been dieting of my own accord since the beginning of the month and have lost 5lbs. I've been looking at this thread and the slimming world one for a little while and today looked up where my nearest meetings are. Lo and behold, the nearest WW meeting is a 5 minute walk from my house (if I'm walking slowly or in high heels). And the meeting is on Wednesdays. So - I'm waiting to get a text back from my mum (who is also thinking of doing WW) and if all's well, I'll be attending my first meeting tonight. Scared much?

Ideally I'd like to lose 21% of my body weight, but am breaking it down into smaller chunks

Welcome:) Enjoy tonight, it really helps going to a class even if only while you learn about the plan;) good luck:)

    Hiya COMP :)

You'll be fine - meetings aren't half as scary as you think they'll be and the weight will be wandering off before you know it.

I haven't been to WI for two weeks and am off there tonight. There's been bad eating for the last two weeks, so I'm back on track from tomorrow. Honest :D
  • 3.5 lb lost yesterday! Very pleased about it, but it might have been even more if I ahdn't gone out for lunch yesterday. Planned on having something light, so my friend and I decided to share a starter rather than have a main meal, described as mixed grill for 2. It was absolutely massive! How anyone could have eaten a main meal after it is beyond me, there was chicken, gammon, steak, sausage, black pudding and mushrooms, but each piece would have been big enough for a main meal! Absolutley gorgeous though:rotfl:

    Back on track today...

Hi COMP :hello: well done on taking the first step, they say its the hardest! How did it go tonight? I totally know where you're coming from. I was going through a real confidence crisis when I decided to join a group and I was really nervous. But once I got there someone took me under their wing & was really friendly & I was over it real quick.

I've always struggled with sticking to diets, but I really do think this plan is fabulous, so easy to stick to as I can eat anything I want and if you stick to the plan & point everything you do loose weight! One night I was so dumbfounded that I was eating a twirl but it was part of my diet & I did loose weight! :j

2 days in and i cant believe i am so full, still havent managed to use all the points today but only had 2 left so better than yesterday.

I am so not used to eating three meals a day and have set my phone alarm for every hour on the hour so that I remember to drink regular glasses of water during the day, has driven my secretary mad today, but what the hell.

Now off to plan for tomorrow's food.

  • Best laid plans and all that - I got caught at work and didn't make it home in time. Next Wednesday is a definite though!

Can I ask what may be a silly question? If you opt to pay weekly, do you still need to pay for the weeks that you miss? Or just the ones you actually go to?

Pfft. Thought it would be. Ah well. I'm probably going to do the monthly pass anyway.
