Good grief, for one slice of cake?!
Do they know you're doing WW? Can you offer to cook a couple of times a week to show them the kind of thing you're eating and that it can be tasty - and tastier than a takeaway?
Mr F isn't on WW, so I make his main course something relatively healthy (such as fishcakes) and where he will have beans/tatties/chips, I'll have fresh veg instead. Would something like that work?
Yeah normally I do either just have what they're having if it's ok point wise or a tesco healthier ready meal or something.
But for some reason I'm really upset over this! I think it's because I'd said to both of them that I'd looked up the points (9pp in a chow mein? is this true by the way?) and could pretty much eat a decent portion. And they said "oh that's good". So fine. Then it gets here and my dad goes, "you're not giving up are you? just have a bit". Which REALLY got to me, so I ran upstairs, cried a bit (:o) and I've told them to throw the rest away.
A bit of an overreaction? Probably. But meh.0 -

I didn't get a book or anything, just bought one of their calculators from ebay and went ahead and calculated stuff. Someone with the books may be able to give you a helping hand there
That's pretty much all there is to it though, the calculator (or a link I posted here earlier, search my posts) will tell you how many propoints you're allowed per week, and then it's just a case of pointing what you eat- most stuff can be worked out from the packets, or there's loads of advice on values online too0 -

I so hate it when people do that. You're having a cake and it's " Oh, I thought you were on a diet..."
"I am, but I can have a cake that I've pointed, thankyou very much!!!":mad:0 -
Thank you, that's what I was expecting. So is there an idea of how much is 'moderation' before it starts to have the adverse effect of stalling loss? I don't eat that much of it tbh, but my mum who joined same time as me eats a LOT and she doesn't 'get it' that it's not FREE.
Pro Points is designed to encourage its members to eat more healthily and eat at least their a day. Although there has been talk of this increasing to a recommended 10 a day!
I can say I went a little daft on the fruit when ProPoints 1st started and ended u making myelf physically sick by eating too much. It also had an adverse effect on my weightoss after 3/4 weeks.x__Indigo_x wrote: »Hi all i have been having a read through this thread and tlooking on minimins and i must admit im confused. ive never done WW before.

Personally I would bite the bullet and attend a meeting, find a free meeting/reg coupon in a paper and go along. If you decide you are wanting to buy books from ebay, the propoints starter pack is the way to start, however they do tend to be more expensive than attending a meeting, as you get these free when you join. If you join online you do not get any of the meeting materials as you do the plan all online.

On day 7 of ww and just had a pork dinner was not worth the 26 points i used for it
I think next time i'll replace the roast pots with roast butternut squash and lose the yorkshire pud and stuffing.
But i think my 1st week has gone well and I actually feel healthier and like I may have lost a few lbs.0 -

x__Indigo_x wrote: »so the calculator tells u the points of food? or am i saying something daft?:o i worked out 29 points a day tho that means nothing to me :rotfl:
Yep thats it,propoints are based on the protein, carbohydrate, fat and fibre values of a food and that's what the calculator does for you
that 29 you worked out is the allowance you have based on your height, weight and gender.0 -
