Points help needed!!
I'm going out for dinner tonight with a friend. I've looked at the menu and everything is covered in cheese or cream apart from the steak.
It's a six oz ribeye steak with hand-cut chips (NOM!) The WW website says that a 10oz ribeye is 13PP so I am guesstimating at 9 for the steak. Home-made thickcut chips are 5PP for a small portion, but what's a small portion?!?! I'm going to ask for veg on the side and mainly eat that instead of the chips, so do you think if I go for 16 all in for the main course that would be ok?

If they're hand-cut chips, can you guess the amount that would make up one potato (easier to work out PP for!), eat that much and add some on for the oil?0

Hi all,
I've been looking at WW ProPoints since it was rolled out in Jan, but kept putting off signing up. I've dipped in and out of the forum here and on WW to get motivated, but never quite took the final step.
My mate has decided she would like to do this and has offered to pay my way so we can support each other :j Seeing as this is an offer I can't really refuse (MSE :money: or otherwise) I'm not sure what to join.
I can see joining online would be good as you can log-in when you like or have time BUT the meetings might be better to keep you focused as you have to face the scales in front of the group (well sort of).
We have also considered doing both, like me online and her going to the group. What do you guys think? Does this cover all bases? If you join at the meeting what do you get by way of starter pack?
Also, do you have to be a member at all to actually buy anything from the WW shop?
She's looking to start asap, so I guess we'd better decide soon. Thanks in advance!

Guys I just had to have fish n chips from the takeaway tonight........ I did a search on WW and came up with Wetherspoons fish n chips at 27 PP. Do you think this would be comparable for a takeaway?
Hoping for a 3lb loss this week, fingers crossed, first full week weigh in on sat - actually excited!! How sad is that lolLight Bulb Moment - 11th Nov 2004 - Debt Free Day - 25th Mar 2011 :j0 -

if you do a search on the message boards on the WW site there are discussions about fish & chips & what the pps are - I think if you had a whole portion of chips it'll be more than 27pps (sorry but I hope this helps!)
weigh in today & as we're going away I'll have to go to my local gym & weigh. Not feeling good about this as I have been premenstral & have really gone over my pointsMust try harder!

I don't know, I think there are a fair few more chips from a chippy, would you say you ate a similar amount?
It's fine either way though isn't it, with your weekly points (and presumably what would have been your evening meal from your dailies too?)0 -

Hi PKL,
This is my first post on the forum so hope you'll all be kind to me!
I'd recommend you go to meetings as you'll get the support from other people and the leader - though some are better than others I have to say! You can get the best of both worlds by getting a monthly pass either at your first meeting or you can buy it online beforehand. This entitles you attend meetings and also get access to the food tracker, points calculator, recipe builder etc online.
I think knowing that you are going to the meeting to be weighed each week keeps you on the straight and narrow. Well okay, maybe it doesn't all the time 'cos that's why we're there in the first place!
I'm not a leader by the way. I got to goal 4 years ago with WW and have joined again a few weeks ago to get rid of 10 lbs that seems to have crept on when I wasn't looking! I really like the propoints plan.:)
Oh and btw, the ww website seems to be down this morning so if that was all you had, you'd be a bit st*ffed.

In the pocket guide you get, it says 210 g portion of chip shop chips is 14 pp. This is approx the size of 1 potato's worth, so a portion of chip shop chips will probably be bigger than this. Cod in batter is approx 13 pp it says.0 -
Hello all:wave:
Well here is my story so far.... My husband joined WW back in 2007 when I was pregnant, he lost over 2 stone and got to goal :j
We then moved away from the area and 4 years later he has managed to put on the 2 stone he lost and another just for good measure:rotfl:
We have now moved back to the area and we both decided to join back his old group (I am still calling this extra 2 stone I have to lose baby weight even though the baby is 4 and starting school in Sept:eek:). We joined a couple of months ago but we have found we can no longer afford for both of us to attend (£12 per meeting between us over a month is the guts of £50), so..... we have decided that he will carry on attending as normal and I will stick with the plan at home, once he reaches goal and can go free I will join back and hopefully I won't be too far off goal so will only have to pay for a minimum amount of time anyway! Well thats the plan.
I wish we could pay monthly by DD like you can in England but over in NI we can't even get access to the online tools (unless someone knows otherwise). Really annoys me but thats a different story.
Anyway, this is a new decision and as we have fell of the wagon the last couple of weeks and it's my birthday this weekend I am going to weigh myself at home on Tue (OH WI day) and start fresh from there. I will be looking to this board for support and advice as I won't really get much than the usual grunt from OH when he comes is from WI:rotfl:
Hope you are all doing well and I will see you all tue!
