Well that's week 7 of my 3 free months done, I lost 1/2 a lb this week, so have now lost 15.5 lbs...
I'm a bit downhearted today because I only lost half a pound this week, but I know I've been good and definitely tracked everything, I even had 33 weekly PP left because I wasn't nearly as hungry as the previous week when I went over my weeklies by 5PP, maybe I'm paying for that this week - I know going over isn't always instantly punishable on the scales.:oMember of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
Balance 19th April '07 = minus £27,640
Balance 1st November '09 = mortgage paid off with £1903 left over. Title deeds are now ours.0 -
My mother in law has given me here weight watchers propoints pack because I cant afford to actually join.
The calculator that came with the pack tells me i can have an allowance of 46 propoints each day, but when i looked online and used a propoints allowance calculator it gave me an allowance of 35.
Theres a big difference and i dont know which is correct, can any1 help me ?
the one I used online was -
The basic baseline points are two for women, eight for men and 12 for nursing women.
Determine current weight points. Take the first two numbers of the current weight and add these.
Anyone below 5 feet has zero points. Anyone that is 5 foot 1 inch to 5 foot 9 inches adds one point and anyone taller than 5 foot 10 inches adds in two points.
For ages between 17 and 26, add four points. Ages 27 to 37 is three points. Ages 38 to 47 is two points. Ages 48 to 57 is one point and any age that is 58 or older is zero points.
being 2 + 28 + 1 + 4 = 35
TIA x
There's actually a link earlier on in this thread to a website that will work out how many pps you need.
to anyone who is wondering if the pp system will fill you up all I can say is I am amazed at the amount I eat & still lose weightI think it takes a couple of weeks to get into your stride & work out how to use your pps wisely (lots of 0pps with meals) but yep it does work! :T Definately cooking yourself helps to spread the pps.
I ate like a king last week & lost 4.5lbs!DF as at 30/12/16

Hello everyone.
I've started WW and am nearing the end of week one.
I've done WW before and the last time I did it I lost 2.5 stone on the old points system. I had a half hearted attempt at doing pro points a while ago but gave up after a week. This time I'm determined to do it and I really like the new plan - in particular the weekly points which I use for the weekend.
Anyway, I've got quite a lot to lose and my motivation this time is that I'm trying for a baby and have recently been diagnosed with PCOS. I don't ovulate at the moment (not too helpful when you're trying for a baby) and there's the potential that I might need to take some pills to make that happen. However they don't give it to you if you have a high BMI (like I do). So in case I need this pill and to just be generally healthy for having a babba I've decided to lose some weight.
So I had a sneaky peek this morning (yes I know!) and there's a good loss already but I'm going to wait until Wednesday morning which is my official weigh in day. But I'm quite excited!
P.S. Hubby is doing the diet with me so it helps that we can support each other.0 -

I used the link to calculate my allowance and it is 46 again
I would only reach that if I pigged out on takeaway, i did my 1st day counting today and only got to 26!
Will not eating my allowance impair my ability to lose weight??0 -

Hi Maya
DNMS is right - You need to eat as close to your daily allowance as you can. As you lose weight, your daily propoints will start to reduce and if you are eating less than the minimum for WW members (29 Daily PP) then your weightloss may start to stall or even stop.
Please don't eat for the sake of it but maybe find foods that have a slightly higher PP allowance or even a slightly larger portion to begin with then reduce these accordingly when your daily PP allowance decreases.
I hope this helps.
As DNMS has said (in a round about way) I am a WW leader, so if you need any help please feel free to PM me.

Does that mean i can munch on an extra bar of chocolate (I've bought mini bars that are 4/5 points each) to make my points up ? or should I be trying to eat healthy but higher point snacks like cheese and crackers or ham sandwich ?
the reason i didnt reach my point allowance could be because i cut out bread and high carb foods as i know i loose more weight if i do that x0
