I'm thinking of cancelling the membership & just stick to the plan myself with the support of this thread? I've got loads of recipes, a calculator & the knowledge - not sure why I'm still paying £20pm... need to think about it...

Well I've been going it alone from day one, as long as you have access to the same weighing scale every week I don't see why you wouldn't be fine :D

I've been buying a couple of WW things from Poundland... Wheat + Oat Crackers (or something like that), 1pp for 3 crackers: a bit thin but nice with 2pp worth of cheese (I've missed cheese SO MUCH) as a little snack. They've got the bagels there as well, 4pp for a bagel but it's quite nice "doughy" bread- also less than 2 slices of medium wholemeal as that equates to 5pp!
  • I would really like that :D

For lunch for the last three days I've had 40g pasta (what a sad wee amount that is!) with some of the WW zero point pasta sauce, although I added peppers when I made it to give it some more yum-factor. I've not felt myself hungry either, and before WW that would have been a tiny lunch.

I can post my recipes for slow-cooker chilli and bolognaise later if anyone wants them? I've pointed them at 4-5 points per portion (+ pasta/rice obviously) which is pretty good and they're yummy too! Would be good to get a second opinion about my pointing of them as well!

    yes please F-F!

I have just discovered a hm lunch which I have loved the last couple of days!

    Ham coucous salad with corridander

ok so I cooked up 75gs cous cous - & used half for one day (the other is sitting in the fridge for tomorrow ;))
added 6 slices of waifer thin ham
tomato, pepper, cucumber & some fresh corriander and vola it was delish 6pps :T

dinners - often I'm having a couple of quorn fillets, veg, maybe mash depending on how many points I have left! (or whether I want wine or something yummy!) & gravy. Am having a lot of butternut squah & am loving - you can make chips & then add vinegar mmmmmm

Has everyone made the warburtan's squarish wrap pizza? would recommend for 7pps (check out the link a few pages ago.

I have been having mashed cauliflower (tastes nicer than it sounds!) to bulked up meals where I would be having mash potato/rice - so chilli would be excellent with.

I would also really recommend the spicy turkey meat ball recipe off of the WW website

Just finished my 1st week , lost 2 lbs but was hoping for more.
But i did have a double cheese burger and a chicken mayo and a mcflurry one day :) oops :(
and i gave myself a hazelnut baileys lastnight as a treat :o
i think i'll be far stricter with myself this week or it will be years before i reach my goal of 90lbs x

maya is this a typo? surely you don't want to weigh 90lbs that's less than 6 1/2 stone?

It means lazy in Japanese, learned it at school and realised it describes me pretty well haha!

This is copied from my own record of losses, all done using Boots weighing scales (only difference being most recent two were measured in Lincoln not Cardiff)

Week 1: (8 lbs lost from previous weighing about a week before starting)
    Week 2: 0lbs ()
    Week 3: -4lbs
    Week 4: -2lbs
    Week 5: -2lbs
    Week 6: -1lb
    Week 7: 0lb
    Week 8: -5lb
    Week 9: +1lb
    Week 10: -5lb
    Week 11: -2lb

So not 100% consistent, but I'm still pretty pleased with myself- I've never stuck to something I've tried alone for longer than a couple of weeks! I honestly think it's the calculator and the ease of propoints that's helped!

wow impressive! you've made my mind up! :p I'm gonna cancel my dd - comes out on the 1st but membership last until 12th so will go to the group until then to get my resources!

I have a website that is a calculator. I've check it out and the pp calculations are the same as on the webiste. So I'll use that.

Have been at home today as had minor surgery & have been writing out my recipes!

Palema can you tell me if I need to do anything to cancel other than cancel my dd?

Joined WW last wednesday with a monthly pass ..... went for my first weigh in today ....... and lost 5lb! Im over the moon, first time i've been back to ww since pro points were introduced and must say has taken a bit of getting my head around !

I know its week 1, and thats when the biggest loss is likely to be, but am still pleased to have such a loss! I was craving for mcdonalds on saturday, as had a drink (counted my points) on friday night but didnt have mcdonalds, had a ww meal instead! It was hard but has paid off now :)

Biggest thing i've found this week is because i have a monthly pass, i get the free app on the IPhone, which has been a godsend! Its brilliant, i can point and track everything as i go, have always been useless writing it down, but tapping it into my phone is so much easier ....... i just hope this enthusiam keeps up ..... if only i could do another 2lb this week, that could be half a stone!

Just been out to lunch with some friends too, and they all sat round eating burgers and chips and onion loaf, etc, whilst i ate, and thoroughly enjoyed, a 6 oz rump steak on a bed of salad ! Was perfect and required willpower.

I for one, would not be able to do WW without the support of a group or at least a weekly weigh in by someone else ..... good luck to all those who can do it though!
  • Well done picardygirl! Why is it that Mcdonald's is suddenly so tempting? I caved and had a mcflurry (not worth it) on Sunday, but used my weeklies so not much damage done.
    Well done on your loss!!

    Bolognaise

    Ingredients:

3 peppers (any colour) 0 points
    1 large onion
    0 points
500g extra lean beef mince 22 points
    Mushroom (around 150g) 0 points
1 teaspoon garlic puree 1 points
2 tablespoons tomato puree 1 points
    30g oats 3 points
    100g red lentils 9 points
2 cans chopped tomatoes 0 points
2 beef stock cubes in around 400ml water 1 points

This makes loads so you need to bear that in mind when selecting your pan size ;)

Spray some 1cal cooking spray into the pan and add the chopped onion and pepper, leave for a couple of minutes until soft. Add the mince. I normally add some mixed Italian herbs at this point too - as well as a wee sprinkle of garlic granules.

Once the mince is browned, throw in the canned tomatoes, purees and stock. along with the oats and lentils (this thickens it and makes it last longer :money:) Add the mushrooms after about ten minutes.

Simmer for half an hour and it's done :D

This makes 9-10 portions (assuming that 1 portion is a heaped ladlefull) and is very yummy. This works out at 4PP per portion - don't forget your pasta/bread will be more.

Off to make dinner quickly then got my WI, so will post the chilli recipe tomorrow :D
