I decided this morning to weigh the amount of cereal I used to put in my bowl... turns out I was probably eating between 75-100g each time!
Don't think I could stomach that much any more, my 40g + a bit of skimmed milk is plenty :D

I did this... pointed up my "old" eating that I would do on a daily basis, I had thought it was the daily chocolate bar that was making me put on weight...

well it was, along with all the other extra points, I was eating about 65pp on a typical day, that was just bran flakes for breakfast, pkt of crisps for tea break, 4 slices of bread with laughing cow light for lunch and pasta with sauce for tea, so not really a dreadful face-stuffing way to eat. I can see now it wasn't JUST the chocolate bar that did it!

I still have 55g of bran flakes with skimmed milk and a bit of sugar every morning - I still weigh it too, sugar included though I do try and guess what the amounts are to see if I got it right when I look at the scales.:)

congrats on your loss determined new ms!

I dread to think what a whole "old" day's food would have been...I was just a greedy so-and-so and that's the end of that :P

I notice a difference in my skin while dieting, no spots and it does look more healthy, must be all that salad and fruit! My 3rd weigh in is tomorrow and think I may stay the same :( as I used allllllllllllll my weeklies last sat night on a meal with friends and I've had burger n chips this week. Ending the week 12 points over my allowance.... Heyho... will see in the morning.

Also had a ready meal tonight from tesco, beef lasagne which hubby chose (had a very long day and feeling too lazy to cook) and it was 15 points! What lower calorie meals are good ladies? I didnt enjoy the WW ones too much. On the upside 15 points for lasagne is better than the 16 I had last week for costa lemon cake lol All a learning curve :)

Tesco's frozen Light Choices lasagne is a lot better than WW's, which was nothing more than a pile of slop! In fact most of theirs and Asda's healthier range is pretty nice.

Also if you want to feel like you're eating something normal, the Co-op's frozen spaghetti bolognese is 10 points! Their toad in the hole is too, so eat that with a shedload of veg and you can feel like you've had a "naughty" dinner what with all the batter (yeah it's not nutritional in any way, shape or form... that's what the veg is for :P)

can you batch cook some meals & freeze for when you cba? That's what I have done.

I hear you re the skin. I suffer from acne & only get it consistently when I'm at least a stone over weight. My skin has really improved the last few weeks :j

End of the second week doing it just online, another 2lb off! So 4lb in 2 weeks.

I always find the 2nd week hard, and there were a couple of times I had to stop myself grabbing another malted milk cream from the cupboard! However it's paid off and actually made me realise how bad I was at snacking before I started this.

Given that, this week I have eaten ice cream, chocolate cake, custard, all sorts, but it has been within my points and therefore really I have not denied myself at all!

3 things I have learned this week
    - I used to snack way too much, probably over 50 points a day (ailuro2 I used to eat about 80g of cereal too!!!)
    - Tesco Light Choices, I love how they have the propoints on them, but do double check them. I had a lamb moussaka and it was actually one point less than it said; another day I had something else and the calculator made it one point higher.
    - Watch your Weight Watchers products for points. I bought a tin of WW spaghetti, it said 1.5 points on it but it was POINTS not PROPOINTS (which is 4). So things with a long shelf life may still have the old system on them.

Well done on all the losses this week!!! x

I agree with this completely - before I could easily eat half a packet of Hobnobs in one sitting (Over 20PPS ) but now I'm thinking more before I snack. Last night I was sitting eating wholegrain crackers with Laughing Cow light on them and having a lovely time watching the tennis :rotfl:

Today is going to be a high PPs day for me - I've "spent" 9PPs already this morning on a yummy bacon sandwich and am meeting my friend to go shopping later which normally involves a scone and some tea. I'm not going to give that up - I love scones :D I have bolognaise for dinner though - the low points recipe I posted the other day, and by the time I get home I will have bought loads of fruit and salad to snack on so shouldn't be too naughty today!

Have a good weekend everyone ;)

Batch cooking I think will be the way to go Determined New Miss. Working late def encourages more CBA nights!

Weigh in this morning, not as bad as I feared, have lost 1lb :) So 5lbs in 2.5 weeks which doesnt sound too bad when you write it like that!

I think I need to change my sedentary lifestyle though but I'm a bit afraid of getting into the gym etc and not keeping it up which is how I piled on all the weight in the first place, used to exercise 6 days a week then lost the motivation/will/childcare etc.

Have a fab weekend everyone and well done on the losses.

have you thought about doing the couch potato to 5k in 9 weeks programme? I did and am now a runner, totally love it. Running about 3 or 4x a week for 50mins, and I was an absolute hater of running for my entire life! I can post you the programme if you want?

Thank you so much for the offer DNM - but I am not a runner.... And that does sound like a serious challenge!!

In the past I've done step classes, splash dance, swimming etc. I think I might borrow my mums wii and try some of the fun stuff first and just get my garden tidied up - that should burn some cals!!:D
