  • Hi Jak - sorry to hear about this...must have been a shock to you! It sounds to me that he simply needs to learn a bit about financial responsibility - there are many of us on this board who have been rubbish with our finances, so he's by no means the only one!

Anyway, no-one is perfect; hopefully this has been a lesson for him in honesty so I hope you guys sort things out, have a lovely wedding and work together towards a secure (and fun!) future.

    Good luck!!!!

yes - at least you can both laugh at my comments bout him being a gambler / alcoholic etc. yes maybe i think the worst - but then again - i have been there and been lied to consistently and had it all put down to just spending a bit here and there and oh whoops no money left blah blah blah.

I wouldn't laugh at anyones comments I appreciate them all. I just thought it might provide a short sharp shock with inducing some element of money sense!

The standing ordr was set up. I was there when he did it. Don't know when it was cancelled. Going to find out tonight. Not very ready with the truth and scared as hell i'd throw him out on his ear. Not that I have. And I won't as long as he sorts it out. And doesn't lie. Anymore. To. Me.

Good. So long as you are approaching this without illusions fogging your eyes. What he has done is to strike at the very foundation of your relationship - trust and truth. How you deal with that is up to you, just as long as you appreciate the seriousness of what he has done, as well as him appreciating it.

That's entirely up to you. I was going to say "If he doesn't cooperate", but I hope he's a hell of a lot more scared of you tonight than a bunch of strangers wanting to string him up by his thinking apparatus...

Just make it clear to him that it won't always be just £10 per week. Tell him that if he needs more money he just has to tell you why and you decide whether or not he has it.
I know this might seem harsh and isn't going to be popular with everyone on here, but this guy has got to learn. He has been deceitful. He needs to stay focused on the reason he is saving. You need to ask some very serious questions tonight, Jak

The thing is we all make mistakes that snowball out of hand and if this is the first time he has done anything like this then perhaps we shouldn't be judging him too harshly? Where would we all be if we hadn't been forgiven at sometime point in our lives? Sort it out, love and then move on! xxx
It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
