Hi Barneysmom,
I have the same machine as you and I love it! I've added your thread to an earlier one on electric slicers as it helps to keep the recommendations together.

Thanks Pink-winged. I did look for a thread but it looks like I used the wrong words.

I've got the cookworks one from Argos-I love it.Use it for both my hm bread and slicing beef, gammon ,&pork joints so far.Makes everything s-t-r-e-t-c-h that little bit further!:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0

I have the Kenwood one and it's brilliant and makes a joint last forever. If you get the breast off the turkey you can bung that on it as well, much much easier.
It's also good for HM Bread.0 -
I am interested in purchasing one of these to cook my own ham joints and carve up for sandwich meat. My mum is prepared to go halves with me and we'll share it (hope she keeps it at her house as I don't have the room :rotfl:)
Anyway those of you that have one would you recommend it? Did you buy it recently and if so was it a bargain?I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

I bought the Cookworks Food slicer £29.99 in Argos.
It's collecting dust !!
Got it to slice hm bread but you are better using a good knife.
Sliced ham & roast beef on it but too much faffing about & a !!!!!! to clean. HTHs0 -
I have the Kenwood one, is ok for slicing hm bread but wouldnt like to try it on a joint.0

I've got the Kenwood one and use it at least once a week, all my joints of meat are sliced on it, makes them go further.
One tip, slice the meat when it's cold, it's much easier. If I'm cooking a joint for dinner I normally cook it the day before, when it's cold slice it then reheat the meat slices in gravy.
Another tip, buy it from Lakeland, it may cost a couple of pounds more but if you find you don't like it you can return it.
