Hi Folks
Bit of a slacking day for me as i cleaned main bathroom yesterday. I have swiped little toilet (scrubbed real well mon). My days work as been :-
WM x 2, unload DW, Hoovered through all down stairs and hoovered stairs. Mopped all down stairs. Cooked tea. Done 2mo pack ups. Tomorrow won't be much beta cause my dd's old enough done their own. However if get chance might have a crafty sort in youngests room. She is such a hoarder!! Bin bag at the ready0 -
At least you had some to miss... I have never had such a luxury
I know, and I have no idea how you (and my mother) coped. I was 30 when I had DS1
. My mother had at least 3 children by then. I am far too selfish to have done that.
ETA - and look who you have now - looking on the side of positive thinking. years of KH, and now top (and very attractive
) bloke. I hope you are suitably appreciative!
and a further ETA as I will not have time tomomorrow to say a very Happy birthday to the lovely Natty - hope you have a lovely day.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
I dunno..... I have a 1950's kitchen, cooker, oven, small cupboards and table..... so difficult to get round, but I'd find it hard to find something I loved these days unless it was something cheesy like a rayburn (which I used to have) I've got wee, small cupboards and awkward oven places to clean Oooh, and also, the times I've had dreams over a cooker hood that sucked up all the grease is unbelievable.... The two bookcases (which can't be fitted in anywhere else) end up moich! However, my cooker is cute, 50's and I know it well (because it's completely off the wall sometimes re temperatures... we've argued so many times, and I don't really want to get into a relationship with a new one iyswim) It's English Rose (but not the cool expensive aluminium one, the one that came after that. The table was a luckpenny from the joiner that fitted it. It's got history.... (that's what I keep telling myself!)Am I the ony selfish one who misses the single and irresponsible days when I did nothing for anyone else?
No you are totally not!!!!
ETA Also has kitchen envy! and for anyone who has cupboards and worktops. I have a 1950s sink and a scrubbed table.
However, I did start my "independent" life cooking bread every day on a babybelling so maybe my expectations are set a bit low

My kitchen is not that exciting, it consists of typical new build rented accommodation kitchen, not enough cupboards, hardly any work surface but lots of empty floor!! Just that now ive moved in its just ram packed with carp and miss matched furniture.Sealed Pot Challenge member #982

It'll be ok, <hugs> It's what you do with it that counts. My first kitchen consisted of one lonesome two by two table, a two ring + oven baby belling, a small fridge and a sink. Cans were kept in boxes. I don't know, maybe I was just 18 and determined, but there were a lot of things came out of that kitchen that I now think "well done" even if I took it in my stride at the time.life_in_termoil wrote: »My kitchen is not that exciting, it consists of typical new build rented accommodation kitchen, not enough cupboards, hardly any work surface but lots of empty floor!! Just in my opinion (please don't be offended) It doesn't matter if your furniture matches right now, that's for the future if you see what I mean. The things that are important to you will come with time if you plan for them.Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.

I had 8 by then! Tiddles was born 31 days before my 31st birthday. I don't regret having them for a second but there are so many things I know I will never get the opportunity to do.
