Many years ago when i did work experience in a hairdressers the old lady that owned it made me clean mirrors & windows with white vinegar and newspaper :rotfl: i remember it so vividly but it sure worked  just used dry scrunched up newspaper.mummychicken wrote: »Nothing new happening here, especially on the debt front, i am trying to stop living in my OD but it never happens, just sick of looking at my statements and always having a minus sign in front of my balance
Feel low again if i am being honest, i do get like this, feeling really frustrated with myself over never having any money, i am too impatient, i know i have to be realistic and it will take time to be debt free, it just gets me down that i can never seem to break free, every week i end up paying out for something i never accounted for.
Miserable right now, then cross with myself for being so selfish as i have ALOT to be grateful for, a life full of things that money cannot buy, why do i let myself get low in mood so often ?
Would it help if you were to close that account down with the o/d and open a new one without that facility and then treat the o/d as a debt? i hope you're feeling a little better by now, we all have down days hun don't beat yourself up about itMortgage Overpayments 2024/25 - September-December, £152.46. Hi MC ( and DFW321)
Sorry to hear its getting you down. You're right..there is loads to be thankful for but sometimes it's hard to remember. A good friend of my sisters suddenly died yesterday. Massive stroke at 57 to someone who was fit and healthy. Unexplained but I guess it's important to even keep debt in perspective and we can get a little obsessive on here. But no one wants to do anything but support you MC so let us know how!
I like DFWs idea..that sound a good un to me.
Have a good eve. Maybe we can raise a virtual glass or 2??
Take care

Sorry to hear your sad news Brizzle, your sister must be devastated.
Have been feeling more positive in the past few days, the overtime ban at work has lifted and i have had a few extra hours work this week, so the extra cash is going straight to the CCs.
Thanks DFW for the tip on my OD, it is aprox £195 at the mo, i am going to keep the account open but try and pay off £10 a week, that is all i can manage at this time , but it will be gone by September ! Something to aim for05/03/14 £15,980 0n 2 CCs

Thanks MC.
That's great re the extra hours! A little boost to the plans..I started a highly ambitious money generating plan today too..(it'll crash and burn but oh well give me something to aim for!) ....so we can support each other along the way.
Best of luck with the OD..I keep on dipping into mine ( the sig is not always 100% accurate I am discovering:o) but luckily for another few weeks it's fee free..an Xmas gift from the Co@p! But will have to pull my finger out after that as its not good to be always using it as a temporary buffer..

Hey MC, its all a bit up and down for us all,
lets hope the new season brings a fresh start and a bright outlook.
Ive been down too, so far down its scary, and alot of it has been money based.
Shall keep plugging away, xTrying to shift that debt!0 -
Hi Skint, do hope you are well now, depression is awful and i know that money worries can cause alot of stress.
Having a LSD, cannot be a NSD as need fuel in the car, ignoring the empty signs does not help! Am working tonight so will sleep tomorrow, therefore expect tomorrow to be a NSD.
It has been a bright, sunny day here, thats good to lift the spirits, have took the dog on a long walk and he had fun chasing his ball....and it was FREE
Have rummaged through the freezer and found a couple of tubs of Chili, so that will do for tea this evening, have made some bread rolls, i love making bread as i love kneading , find it relaxing to thump the hec out of the dough :rotfl:05/03/14 £15,980 0n 2 CCs

Hi all
You are inspiring me to put on a loaf in my BM!! And I will be making pastry for the chicken pie. Not quite as good as kneading but oh well!
We all have up and down days MC..I am looking at the moment at what I want to spend this year on some things, like a new front door, or some front room furniture..but am having real problems working out how we can afford them:(..just makes me think how tight things are around our existing commitments and that is a bit of a sobering thought.
Chin up! Enjoy the chilli!

I am seeing a positive light but ONLY because I have written everything down afresh.
I got so poorly, and took my eye off the ball. Unfortunately this allowed DH to be at the helm and while I enjoyed the lovely meals and spoiling it wasnt MSE, also we had disney while I was awaiting test results which meant we spent to forget, haha. well we blummin remember now.
Tests were all clear, and now, well, we have a little hiccup to get over, but we shall be rid of amex. Feels so much better to know the score.
I like a new plot or scheme I will have to think of one.Trying to shift that debt!0
